MARIA
She/her | Candlemaker | Longneck
- Maria’s shop in the square is often bustling with activity. Candles are always in demand, both the simple type used to light up the night or the more expensive pleasantly scented variety, and the longneck is always prepared for business. She enjoys the busier days; Maria often says it’s best not to become idle in her older age, and besides, she enjoys the work.
- Business is not the only reason to stop by Maria’s store; many also find her good conversation. Though she has a sharp tongue, she always has interesting insights on the ongoings of the clan and a good sense of humor. It is not uncommon for people come to her for advice either. She’s not afraid to give her honest opinion on matters, no matter who she is speaking with. Often, the clan leader himself can be seen stopping by for a chat, and occasionally, some more serious conversations regarding the clan’s going ons.
- Maria has many friends both in and out of The Drakewoods. She originally hails from the neighboring village of Cloverhoof Grove, but decided to move once The Drakewoods began settling in. Most members of the village were at least semi fluent in draconic, so that would be no hassle. Her apprentice could more than take over her craft, and besides, those dragons needed a level head and a skilled crafter if they ever wanted to get off the ground. She packed up her things, and took the short journey over, something she has yet to regret, she’s happy with this new part of her life.
- She is rather with Chamomile and Skye, the two’s beehive provides the wax for her candles, and in return Maria keeps them well stocked. She’s a fan of Chamomile’s more grassy teas as well, and will often sit down for a cup and some pleasant conversation after closing up shop.
- She also gets along well with Alder, Prometheus, and their daughters. Alder finds another beastclan face to be rather refreshing, and she acts almost as a grandmother to the talonok’s children. She has a tapestry the corven and his oldest daughter made hung in her home, something she’s very fond of.
- Maria keeps a personal garden of especially aromatic plants, and she receives even more supplies from the clan’s foragers, but certain items are simply not available within the Viridian Labyrinth, so she’s always eager to find trade partners.
- Maria is know to be rather stubborn, once she puts her hoof down it’s nearly impossible to get her to change her budge on the matter.
