Rib

Rib was more or less destined for great and terrible things. The clan that he and his younger sister Tibia grew up in had a ritual they put every newborn dragon through. The ritual was drawn-out, painful and traumatizing and few survived it. That was the point. Survival. Those who did were deemed strong and worthy of living.

Rib didn't only survive the ritual, the became something else as a result of it. Something demonic. In his state of pain and trauma he had called down something terrible and it had taken possession of him. Only partly, though. Some was left of Rib's own mind and thoughts, but it was only the negative and the hateful. Despite this, he didn't immediately try to attack his other clan members. The clan was small, yes, but had many strong and skilled fighters. Rib was only a hatchling still and even with his new, demonic powers, he'd still be unlikely to win against all of them.

No, instead Rib took another route to his eventual revenge. He played the long game. Slowly manipulating and maneuvering things to work in his own favour. Charming and impressing his fellow clan members until he'd finally taken the position of leader. That was when he struck. He took his time, torturing and eventually killing every single clan member, taking pleasure in each life stolen.

It didn't take Rib long to realise he did want to lead and control a clan of his own. He'd enjoyed the power it had given him, but at the time revenge had been more important. Now, however, revenge had been taken and he was free to follow a new path.

When he heard of a clan in the Southern Icefield that took in dragons who were marginalized and otherwise outcasts, Rib saw a chance to take over a new clan. He presented himself as someone who had been driven from his previous clan and was accepted without any trouble. He soon found that the lair was perfect for his plans. The impossibly large cave was old and strange and haunted. Perfect for ancient, evil magicks to take hold in.

Rib built up a large following of dragons who would help and support him before he made a move to change things. A ritual was performed, one that allowed the evils already present in the cave to truly take hold and change it. Rib was also able to move the cave from the Southern Icefield to the Scarred Wasteland where he felt more comfortable.

Now Rib rules the clan with his group of followers, finally having achieved the goals he'd wanted for so long.
