Ametrine

Ametrine spent a lot of time looking up at the sky. She didn't particularly like space or the atmosphere or anything, she just didn't like the immediacy of here and now. Here and now on the ground was unpredictable and threatening. Here and now is the current plane upon which she resided, after all. Was there any more reason for it to be undesirable?

Calla had been fishing, when along came a Grey River Flight among the seafood. Sandstorm gasped at the sight of it and leapt to its rescue before any of the other dragons on the fishing team could kill it.
"This one's special!"
"Oh honestly, Dad. At this rate we'll never eat anything!" Violet grumbled under his breath. Also on the team were Sunstar, Bloodmoon, and Ametrine, and they hurried to see what all the commotion was about. SunStar jumped excitedly at the sight of the creature Sandstorm had saved, and she rushed over to examine it, once she'd pried Sandstorm from it. Though Bloodmoon showed some interest, he could only fake enthusiasm for so long until a fish caught his attention back by the river.
"What an astonishing specimen!" SunStar whistled in her singsong voice. Sandstorm didn't understand her, as was natural between a Fae and a Coatl, but he recognized the look in her eyes and replied anyways in his monotone.
"I know, right? I can't wait to sketch it! Would you mind holding it still?" The last request was unnecessary, as SunStar had already scooped up the creature and was cuddling it. Sandstorm whipped out the bestiary and began taking furious notes as he drew a rough sketch.
Calla exchanged a look with her son Violet and they went back to fishing; Bloodmoon needed their help with a particularly large fish. But Ametrine stayed and watched SunStar and Sandstorm with interest. She'd never cared about anything on the ground before, but this creature intrigued her in a way nothing had since she'd joined Calla's lair. For the first time in her life, she set aside her precious pearl and spoke up.
"Excuse me, but may I hold it?"
Even Sandstorm looked up from his drawing, the pen scratching the air with his leftover momentum. SunStar blinked but then smiled at the Pearlcatcher and gladly passed her the little Flight. Ametrine marveled at how soft and thick the gray creature's coat was and couldn't help but press her face against it. Peeking around the creature, Ametrine noted SunStar's serpenta sitting next to her, looking annoyed, and Sandstorm's sparrowmouse fluttering by his head, as if waiting for an order.
"Would it be okay if maybe..." she began, hardly daring to dream. She looked at the ground. Setting the flight down, Ametrine picked up her pearl again, wrapping her tail around it and shuffling back to the river.
"Would you like to keep it?" SunStar's musical voice carried back to Ametrine's retreating back. It had nothing to do with her tone for Ametrine to believe it to be the most beautiful thing she'd ever heard. The Pearlcatcher quickly closed the distance between herself and the furry creature in one wing-aided bound. SunStar set the creature into her waiting arms and Ametrine tried her best not to squeeze the poor thing to death.
"I'll call her Pearl, because now she's my most important treasure."

June 30, 2023, Ametrine becomes the strongest warrior ((first level 25 dragon)) of the Cave of Lost Shadows. Her team, consisting of Salamandra and Conifer, followed soon after. It happened during the Brightshine Jubilee, Sal's festival. Sal kept track of the treasure found during that excursion.
