Biography

When Cousteau was young, the icy waters and frigid air of the Cloudscrape Crags were his home. When he dove deep, so deep that he could not see any semblance of light, he would wonder what creatures lived in this darkness. When he would fly high, much higher than the peaks of the Crags, he could see out across all of Sornieth. The seats of power for other venerable clans of other deities could be seen from such a high. All elicited a breath of awe and instilled a sense of wanderlust deep in Cousteau.

The azure spiral buried this desire deep inside and kept it secret from his fellow clan-mates. Instead, he decided, he would better the clan he knew. But the wanderlust grew too strong. Cousteau often found himself staring across the waters between the Icefield and the Wastes and daydreaming of what life in such a place would be like.

Eventually the spiral could not take such a desire any longer and left in the night for the main continent. For many days he wandered across the volatile landscape, only taking a rest upon the few verdant green patches and cleaning himself in only the coolest of hot springs- all of which were far too hot for his liking.

Eventually Cousteau could fly no longer. His wings refused to carry him further. Down he went, into the ash and dirt that laid gently atop small plants.

When the azure dragon awoke, he found himself in a soft bed of fabric. To his bedside was a nocturne of about one and a half times his size. Their black scales shone with many colors as the light from the pools of lava and various lamps of both magical and mundane light shone upon them. Cousteau would later learn this nocturne called Shimmerstrike- a very fitting name he would later think to himself- found him passed out from heatstroke. The skydancer healer that subsequently came to diagnose him with bed rest, plenty of liquids, and soon a clean bill of health was called Viceroy.

Cousteau feels as though he owes Shimmerstike his life; however, she insists that it is just what she does. This debt was the only things keeping him tethered to the clan until he happened upon Pondshore, and then Leaff.

Occupation: Merchant and a rather successful one at that.
