The ever-cheerful coatl, his friendliness can challenge even Blade's, although he has a horrible tendency to address the others as "Chap," or "Chum," whatever those words mean. Before she moved away, his mate Python, had to reassure the others that they weren't insults, but centuries-forgotten words meaning 'friend' that Monty only uses because of his horrible memory for names.

Monty is known for his penchant for wandering, although it is very well known that without the company of his fellow "chums", he quickly wilts and begins to pine for their company. Even travelling with a few others is insufficient to stifle his homesickness. Monty himself laughs about it, although underneath the humour, a keen dragon could possibly detect wistful longing to travel free from homesickness.

He confessed to Python that he believed it was due to his childhood, where his parents had unknowingly left him behind as they journeyed through the Wastelands, their paws full enough already with his siblings. Abandoned and scared, he would have undoubtedly died if Nymue hadn't encountered him while scavenging for some juicy wasteland pears as a treat for Aevitas. Although Aevitas was reluctant to expand the already-enormous clan, he was impressed by the hatchling's hardiness and was eventually coaxed into making some room for the young coatl.

Monty has since repaid the favour enormously, being one of the hardest workers, capable of cheering up the entire clan, and knowing their surroundings possibly the best after the old clan leader. To quell his love of travel and to put his knowledge to good use, he is the main courier for the clan, so he can still enjoy the freedom of longer flights.
