Shadowbark

Shadowbark was sent to the Everbloom nursery, the Gladekeeper's personal orphanage, not long after Shadowbark came of age. She does not speak of anything from her past clan. Chances are, she was to young to remember it anyway. But once in the gentle paws of the Gladekeeper's assistants, Shadowbark was graciously gifted to the newly formed clan of swamp druids living on the border of Viridian Labyrinth. Originally the clan's senior insect hunter, when her own daughters started to out-perform her, he switched to being the clan's best fighter. Soon, Shadowbark became so good at fighting that he now leads the clan's fighters in battle and trains new hatchlings. Em will often coordinate the buying of orphans from other clans to be trained by Shadowbark in a tough battle camp. Every month, the clan celebrates a sending off of these trainees to the Glademother so they can serve a higher cause: the expansion of life. All trainees have been taught in the ways of the protection of life before being sent to the Gladekeeper's armies. Quick on her toes and always bursting with energy, Shadowbark seems to have fully overcome her species' hibernation tendencies. Her urge for mimicry is also relatively weak but she has still picked up on everyone's love of nature, especially Roarke's overprotectiveness of the swamp. When Dresden arrived, Shadowbark, as the only current fighter, was assigned to teach him the basics of fighting and the two got to know each other beyond this formal coincidence. The tutoring quickly evolved into dating and they now spend their time together doing day patrols of the swamp once Shadowbark is done with her hunting trips.
