B I O G R A P H Y

Within Oliver is a powerful ambition to do something worthwhile in his life, to contribute to the improvement of the general conditions of others, and to be responsible for constructive change and advancement. His purpose is to seek truth in order to understand the principles that govern life. His potential shows an original, ingenious, and versatile quality with the desire to investigate new ideas and theories.

He works best alone, unrestricted, using his self-reliance and love of freedom to answer the call of adventure, to promote his efforts, and to lead others. He should strive to balance his strong tendency to be independent and self-sufficient by developing charity and humanitarian principles. Justice for all dragons should be his ideal. His high regard for truth in his actions leads him to expect truth in others, but he does not always find it.

Learning to focus and to finish what he starts would allow him the pride of accomplishment and eliminate frustration and feelings of repression. The boundless energy within him should be channelled into constructive, active pursuits and intellectual exploration to avoid feelings of restlessness and turmoil.

Oliver has a natural interest in the welfare of his fellow dragon, and a desire to help and serve others in a lighthearted way.

His boundless energy can make him overly mischievous and disorganized, although greatly generous. Any jobs requiring systematic and conscientious effort, or involving any form of drudgery, dismay him. In his work, he would seek a position offering self-expression through contact with others, such as sales or teaching, or a position giving scope to his creative, artistic talents.

He enjoys music, and probably likes to sing—not necessarily professionally—but perhaps while at his work, or when at social gatherings.

He is good-natured and likeable, and others tend to confide in him and seek his advice in personal problems.

Others sense his sincere interest and desire to help, and he can always be counted on to see the bright side of any problem.

He enjoys making others happy and he never lets his own problems "get him down" for any length of time, even though he does tend to worry too much at times.

Oliver's optimism can be a source of inspiration to others as well as himself.

In close personal relationships he is usually thoughtful and considerate. However, his natural interest in others, coupled with his lighthearted, joking reaction to problems, could draw him into emotional misunderstandings which may be difficult to get out of.

Oliver has always been considered a troublemaker. He has a bad reputation, but sometimes his clan needs mixing up every once and awhile. He’s always the dragon to go to when you need something interesting to talk about or need someone to cause trouble for you. But for the most part, he’s a rather mixed bag of emotions, sometimes angry, sometimes rather nice, and, most of the time, downright crazy. It’s not that he’s insane or anything, although some people would say that, but too many people can admit that, really, the only reason that he’s still in this clan is because he’s the mate of Annabelle. For the most part, they just stay out of his way. Maybe that’s out of fear that he’ll get them into trouble, or maybe they just don’t like him, but they do. He doesn't mind.

He never does.

His claws scraped the stone as he crossed his lair, wings held high and proud. It wasn't often that he was happy to be heading back inside, but those times that he was were those he cherished. The day was young, but he had plans- big plans.
Hours later, he was gone again, soaring above the clan as he laughed. No matter how old he might get, no matter how many of his hatchling scales had shed, he would always find the humor in such elaborate pranks as this, and the dragons below him would be clearing muck and oil from their wings for hours. There was never a moment he stopped to think of anything but the humor in the joke, not the way his clan would be left weak and open for attack, not the way the hatchlings would be stuck crying for their broodmates while they were learning to fly.
No, Oliver rarely thought of anything but the punchline, but the chaos created after these things. And for that, Oliver mused, he perhaps lived.
