- she was some sort of OH WAIT SHE'S A G1??? soldier. vigilante type, known as the sun warrior.
- hatched near that cool stained glass arch thing in the driftwood drag on the world map
- no known family or really friends; her egg was abandoned in a rotting tree stump. possible ties to the forum of the obscured crescent. not too fond of the shadowbinder- why??
- moves to the hewn city (wears gold armor to blend in with light dragons and/or in homage to her adopted deity; i specifically chose the bulkier armor bc function over flair + she's not wealthy enough for filigree tailored armor), fights monsters/bandits.
- flies through the sunportal, that's how she's connected to the forum of the obscured crescent, lands up in pearl's exalt rescue, maybe i can ask how long she was there??
- and then she hears caiman's story (reporter??) and goes oh that sounds fun! and flies to revenant. knight stuff. council member?? lots of sun imagery.

Canuh never had a family.

She hatched from an egg abandoned in a rotting tree stump, emerging bright-eyed and soft in a place as pretty as it was deadly. Canuh was a quick learner, and that helped her survive her adolescence- the mistakes she made would have been fatal if repeated. She learned how to camouflage herself in rivers and trees and rocks, how to run through the undergrowth without making a sound, how to follow a dragon without being seen. She learned not not to play near the fallen columns surrounding the dark well, because once she wasn't looking where she was going and jumped after a butterfly only to land in a seemingly endless void-dark sea. Thrashing and coughing, it was only luck that her talons found the edge of the well much deeper than it should have been.

She did not, however, learn to talk. This caused problems for her when she met a feathered dragon who had no pearl except the pale color of their eyes. The dragon kept making noises at her, and when she ran away only to find them with another dragon with too many wings and mushroom-colored eyes, they kept making those same sounds. She caved eventually, letting herself be caught on the path the pearl-eyed dragon was traveling on. Mona and Udûn took her in and taught her Draconic, and gave her a name- Canuh, which Mona told her meant brave and Udûn told her meant owl.

And so she adapted once more, because staying stagnant was how you got killed. She chased after travelers and she hissed at the dragons with oddly colored eyes who dared to invade her sanctum. She stole from hatchlings and hulking warriors alike, running swift and silent past great trees where owls watched with golden eyes.

She bartered with merchants, and when they refused her she took what she wanted and ran.





The whispers followed Canuh wherever she went.

so i filled out saspitite's hotel mabiya job form for canuh because i was bored and the lore seems REALLY cool. the results were really fun to reread. for best effect canuh is monotone and has the enthusiasm of an introverted student delivering a particularly dull social sciences presentation. obsessed with her lack of energy (go girl, give us nothing!!) i really should write her more often! anyway here are the highlights for future characterization :)

Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I am a Pearlcatcher and I have spent the better part of my life carrying out vigilante justice and unorganized crime as the situation deems fit. I do not have a moral code but at least I am honest about it. I have no home, companions, or possessions to lose, which makes me the ideal candidate for what seems like a high-risk and frankly low-reward job. I am very good at allegedly disreputable but nevertheless marketable skills such as thievery and fighting. I have won every fight I have started in the past seven years. I have the resting panic levels of someone being actively hunted for sport, so there is a very low chance anything will get the jump on me in the tunnels. Moreover, I am very stubborn and have resisted mind-targeting attacks in the past out of sheer spite. I have unfortunately been all around Sornieth. I am fluent in Draconic Sign Language but less so in Draconic. I have beaten members of the Ganainm and the Svíkja (since-dissolved assassin syndicates) in over a dozen competitions, including physical combat, riddle contests, and board games. I am legally excommunicated from the Shadowbinder and all related fields that fall under her jurisdiction. This includes but is not limited to what innate elemental magic I would have had. I can, however, sense ley lines and other natural or artificial energies, which is quite useful when I am fighting with or against beings that depend on them. I am bored of pink trees and as such want to go back to fighting things, ideally to help people. If hired, I will follow the staff rules as long as they make sense to me.

Committed multiple counts of thievery that have resulted in my being wanted by fourteen (and counting!) organized groups across Sornieth. Survivor of a deadly and traumatizing hatching condition known as growing up alone in the Tangled Wood. Bore unfazed and frankly unimpressed witness to Horrors Beyond Comprehension. Granted the title of Lionheart and knight by Belladonna (Champion of the Wastes, Herald of the Shade, and Matriarch of Clan Revenant. I was told that those titles mean something). Tamer of raptors and designated protector of at least three corvid groups. Longtime member of the Affiliation for Glimmer and Gloom.

Do you have any personal grudges against any Hotel Mabiya staff? You won't get in trouble if you confess, I just wanna hear some drama.

The spirit known as Qatalar was rude to me, so I am going to find it and deck it between its flaming eyes. That is a direct threat. I was not put off by the fake moon or the thousand voices or the whole crawling-out-of-hiding-from-the-Eleven-to-insult-me thing. I have fought deities before. Start running. Or don't, it's been too long since I've tussled with anything truly intimidating. Additionally, there was an altercation with a staff member when I came in for my interview, something about weapons not being allowed? Perfectly reasonable request for a normal hotel environment. Two complaints about this particular situation, however: 1) This is not a normal hotel environment 2) I don't know where my weapons come from, they just appear when I need them. In addition, one of my ex-partners joined your Alganon and has since gotten even more aggravating to be around. I wasn't aware that such a thing was even possible, and yet here I am. I will take great enjoyment in committing acts of violence against the Alganon if I get this position.
