Ky was born into the harsh world of the Plague flight. The young ridgeback was trained from the beginning how to tough it out. Survival was something he had to learn on his own in order to grow stronger. Even as a hatchling Ky met every challenge with pleasure. Every day was another opportunity to gain more power. The ridgeback, even at a young age, soon bore scars to show his will to live. But that wasn't enough... He wanted to show everyone he was the best at survival.

That desire, while not always translating into combat, did so with Ky. Survival and strength meant nothing if he couldn't best anyone in battle. The ridgeback grew cruel and bloodthirsty. He stalked the Plague realm in search of tough opponents. Battle upon battle, nothing could sate his hunger to fight... and win. But finding random dragons to defeat was boring. Many barely stood a chance after getting lost in the Boneyard. Even entire packs of mirrors weren't much of a hassle once the ridgeback grew larger. His size meant he wasn't nearly as agile as them but he was definitely stronger despite their numbers. Ky began seeking opponents outside Plague.

For years he fought dragons from around Sornieth. Ky would seek out the most formidable warriors around and listen for rumors of more. Even the beastclans weren't safe from his desire to rip and tear into things. His wings grew tattered as more damages took their toll on his body; it eventually got to the point he couldn't even fly anymore. To Ky it didn't matter. As a Plague dragon he would make himself adapt to the loss of his flying abilities. The tattered remains of his wings would act as torn banners that reflected his brutality.

Only twice did his thirst for fighting die down for feelings towards another dragon. The first was a pearlcatcher from the Fire flight, though the two met and nested in the dark trees of Shadow. After hatching the nest and watching his hatchlings grow, things went wrong. Ky wanted them to be strong like he was! The ridgeback pushed his hatchlings to train and fight... even against things much larger than they had been. He not only lost his mate, but his hatchlings as well. The second time he'd met a Light flight guardian who had happened to be passing through Shadow as well. While history didn't repeat itself exactly, he did end up losing them to Luminax after his mate insisted on trying to move back to Light.

Even Ky wasn't foolish enough to take down an emperor. The ridgeback left them behind, tossing the idea of having any hatchlings that could even grow half as strong as himself. It was time to continue his own training. This time he headed for Arcane where he joined the Adamas Realm under Tantris' rule. The king had been looking for dragons to throw into an arena for entertainment and Ky, unlike many of the unfortunate dragons who battled to their demises, found himself right at home.

Ky became the arena champion. Beast nor dragon has taken him down yet, which was obvious given he was still quite alive. When he stepped into the arena the crowds cheered for him, eager to see the show he was about to put on. Meanwhile his opponents cowered in terror, some after living long enough to hear about his abilities while others were just terrified of the large battle worn dragon barreling down upon them. He lived to fight and doing so for a living was a dream come true for such a malicious dragon.
