The ember moon shone down on an egg in the warm autumn night, working a mysterious change. Lo! The egg hatched! And the first of the LeafFairies crawled forth, wet and shaking. A passing dragon happened upon her, and much struck by the beauty of the delicate little creature, kindly helped her make her way to the warm welcome of a nearby clan, who also owed much to the mysteries of the ember moon in their origins. Adopted by the clan founders, the nameless hatchling grew strong and healthy, taking the name LeafFairy in reflection of her appearance and gifts. Eventually she found a mate in an impetuous young imperial who had left his parent clan in search of adventure and somehow managed to make his way through the Shrieking Wilds to the heart of the Glademother's territory with only a few scratches to show for it. Though not born of the EmberMoon, he had similar coloring to LeafFairy and was also a mage. Quickly falling in love with the kind, older beauty, he eagerly agreed to join the clan and become her mate, and consented to take the name LeafThane, founding a new bloodline. LeafFairyIII scoured Sorineth high and low for a suitable mate to carry on her bloodline, to no avail. No matter how hard she looked, she couldn't seem to find anyone she'd take as her mate. LeafBreeze had no name when he met her, he was a newly full-grown dragon on the auction house that was scared out of his wits of what was going on. He didn't trust her. She thought he was rather difficult. Nevertheless, she pushed on. In time, the formerly frightened young Imperial started to show his true self around her. This was when she gave him the name LeafBreeze, even though he was not of the bloodline, she felt that he deserved a name prefixed with Leaf- as well. The two developed a bond deeper than even LeafFairyIII could dream of. Yet something felt a little off-color for the Imperial and the Fae alike. It finally came one day in the form of the Fae breaking down in front of him. She told him that she had chosen him based on his physical attributes in order to pass along her family genes, and tried to feel love for him but could not. He tried to comfort her while dealing with his own newfound confusion. He devoted himself wholly to his duty as a Courier, even after him and his mate had been assigned as clan breeders.
