Favian (Nickname: Favi)
Mercenary
A mercenary is a dragon working or acting merely for money or other rewards. They are soldiers for hire and hired guns. Mercenaries, sometimes referred to as mercs, will perform assassinations, fight in battles and wars, commit contract killing, act as guards, and etc. Favian is part of the Lavaburst's mercenary group, the Sunforge. Favian is the tracker of the Sunforge. His main role is that of stealth attacks, including sneaking ahead and taking out long-range attackers (snipers), countering scouts, and quietly eliminating threats and gathering recon. He also is good in gathering intelligence, navigation, and tracking down almost anyone. "As the sunlight begins to fade, A creeping darkness etches in. In comes a billowing creature of darkness, A dangerous force of the fiery shade. As quick as the light can dissipate, Smoke can replace the path. An intriguing force of all destruction yet none, The dark haze starting to abate." - @septarianflare Favian is a timid, though kind and caring gentleman. Even so, he is very efficient in his work of a mercenary, which often features murder and killing dragons that are just doing their jobs. Favian does what he has to to keep himself and his friends alive. He shares his clown and shimmer genes with his spiral father and shimmer and smoke genes with his bogsneak mother. - Likes: Exercising, Reading, Roses, Fighting, Poetry, Candles, The Arts, Wine - Dislikes: Insects, Alchemy, Brewery, Churches, Dancing, Rainy/Stormy Weather, Messing Up His Scales - Secret(s): His values - According to the Sornieth Floriography Guide, delta orchid stands for readiness. - His harvest floracat is named Layla. Her colors and mood changes with the seasons, so passerby beware. - Origins, Casual, Adventurer - Favian values the safety of the Sunforge's members before himself. Chances are he would die for them. He sees the Sunforge as his family. - Living as he has and being a mercenary has given Favian a very warped code of ethics. - Favian likes to think his every move is precise and well thought out. - When the Sunforge is in the city, you'll probably find him in the little library they have in their home. That or the city's library. He adores reading and literature, specifically fictional genres such as romances and thrillers. - Favian's wings and crest dominantly consist of smoke and embers. Due to this, he cannot fly on his own and needs mechanical wings to help him. Vanora, the engineer, made them for him. - He used to dabble in the arts of alchemy, only stopping after turning most of his crest and wings to smoke and embers. However, it gave him the ability to create/manipulate smoke and turn himself into a being consisting entirely of smoke and ashes. - The smoke and embers seem to cause no effect on whoever breathes them in nor do they cause any real problems for him. - Random facts about his smoky appendages include that they cannot start fires, they move however it is convenient, and prove ineffective when Favian is submerged. - When Favian can't do something, he becomes frustrated. He will keep trying until he can do it or mentally exhausts himself. - Favian has done a lot to get where he is now. This includes murder, kidnapping, stealing, and just generally working hard. - He is very physically strong and is capable of taking on dragons up to twice his size. He aims for softer and already wounded parts of the body with no remorse. - His birdskull necklace features parts from a java sparrow. He acquired it during his years of constant battling and whatnot. - The transition from the Sunforge to the Lavaburst Clan had them living in extreme poverty in which they would sell a lot of their possessions and work very hard for treasure. His book is one of the last things he had left before joining the Lavaburst. It contains a collection of poetry, some of it his own. - Favian wears goggles when he's working or doing something important so that his smoke and ashes doesn't get into his eyes. - He likes to quote poetry. - Favian can play the wooden pipeflute. He taught himself shortly after they moved to Lavaburst City. The other Sunforge members and his cat seem to enjoy it. - When Favian was younger, he would play with candles instead of toys. He didn't care if he would singe himself on the flames, the way the fire danced and waved was mesmerizing. - He secretly admires Alibi, a fellow clanmate. He considers him to be the perfect spy and wishes he was more like him. - Favian believes Xanol's skills are wasted on the role of assistant peacekeeper. He believes she should have been a warrior or something of the like. - Favian believes that the clan shouldn't have a beastkeeper that trains familiars and animals for battle. He hates Linnae and her personality in general. - He despises paper fans. His friends usually try to annoy him by fanning his smoke away from him. - On that note, Wind magic proves extremely effective on him. It is an easy way to disable Favian's abilities. Water magic is also an effective way to hinder his smoke and ashes. - Xenia, the leader of the Sunforge, insists that the name of Favian's moves are stupid. He, on the other hand, cannot be persuaded to think that they are anything but amazing. - He's rumored to be dating someone outside of the city and he is, but he hides this fact for whatever reason. He loves his sweetheart dearly though. He finds himself missing her smile frequently. Origin Story Favian would only live with his parents for two years. Life was pretty good for him then, being a carefree hatchling and all. They lived in a lavish city, but like all good things, it came to an end. His mother would kill his father in cold blood and be imprisoned for it. Her reasons might've included unsatisfaction with the relationship or perhaps she just despised her mate. Whatever reason, this mortified and scarred Favian. He was committed to a convent for the broken, homeless, and unwanted. The short amount of time he'd spend here, he'd spend it afraid, alone, and mourning. However, a small party of Wildclaws broke into the convent and took all the hatchlings. Seven hatchlings and Favian would be taken from the only place they had ever known. He was age three. It would seem that these Wildclaws would be part of a clan consisting of dominantly Wildclaws. This would mean that duels and battles, in general, were common. Favian was raised to be strong and tough. Favian would be very lonely until he met Xenia. He and Xenia became close friends soon after she joined the clan. They became pals after he had made fun of her magic and Xenia challenged him to a duel and beat him. He would take up archery and alchemy for a short time, but he proved to be terrible at both. He had terrible aim. Alchemy gave him his appendages of smoke and ash and the ability to bend them. While he considered that to be a win, he stopped practicing alchemy afterward. Soon, he and Xenia would meet Cayenne and Araqiel. Cayenne and Xenia would become mates and the four of them would become a tightly-knit clique. They were known for being successful in all their duels and catching the biggest prey in hunts. However, they all grew to hate their clan of duels and fighting. Favian thought that there might be something more to life than clawing and biting. They formed a plan. They were to set half of the tents on fire and flee. Araqiel told them all to meet in the grove where they would always hang out. Half of their plan went smoothly and half of the camp went up in flames. However, when they went to the grove. Araqiel was there with the five of the clan's strongest warriors and mages. It was a trap. Luckily, Cayenne, Xenia, and Favian managed to beat them and flee. Araqiel almost died to his wounds. They would flee to a cave near the trading post in the Hewn City. This part of their lives was easily considered to be the worst. They lived with little treasure and would begin to start selling their possessions. Favian would sell all but one of his books. One day they would meet Vitra. He had been recently kicked out of his parents' place and needed somewhere to go. Originally, they only took him in because he had some treasure and food with him, but he later proved to be very skilled in magic. Specifically, defensive magic. This was what Araqiel was skilled in before he had betrayed them all. They would eventually leave the cave because they could not handle living there anymore. They were admitted as refugees to the Lavaburst Clan. When asked about themselves, they adopted the name "Sunforge" and gave most of their story, leaving out Araqiel. Eventually, they were allowed to join and have free housing and food if they served the Board of Superiors. With nowhere else to go, they accepted. During this time, he will not take damage, his movement speed doubles, and can pass through other living things, but cannot harm anyone else as well. He mostly uses this to sneak about swiftly to surprise or avoid enemies. Smoke Shot - Favian swiftly delievers a blast of ashes or smoke to his opponent's face, blinding them. Sucker Punch - Favian counters an enemy's blow (physical attacks only) and retaliates with his own attack. ??? - A move that Favian has never named because he had never used it more than once. Favian holds down an opponent and suffocates them by using his smoke to fill their lungs. It's easily fatal. Skills Mist Slash - Favian delivers a swift slash or cuff mixed with his smoke and ashes and Shadow magic. It deals Shadow damage. Flaming Justice - Favian's claws began to heat up and sizzle, smoke rising from them. He slashes at an enemy, likely resulting in a burn. Spark Rush - Favian charges, his body covered in his ashes. Collision can cause burns and sparks. Ashstorm - The number of ashes and smoke triples during this time and Favian channels it all into a swirling storm around him.
