Cayenne
Mercenary
A mercenary is a dragon working or acting merely for money or other rewards. They are soldiers for hire and hired guns. Mercenaries, sometimes referred to as mercs, will perform assassinations, fight in battles and wars, commit contract killing, act as guards, and etc. Cayenne is part of the Lavaburst's mercenary group, the Sunforge. Cayenne is the explosives specialist of the Sunforge. She develops different types of explosives and utilizes them in her work. She also excels in navigation and has mastered the art of using poisons. Whenever you're near, you make my heart explode. There's more than meets the eye in the case of Cayenne, but if nothing else you should know she's capable of blowing villages and small towns to smithereens. However, she's a compassionate and lively dragon capable of giving love to her friends. Though it is worth noting that when she snaps, so do her enemy's bones. She is endlessly intimidating, always poised to peck someone's skull in. - Arsonist's Lullabye, Earth - Dancer, Origins, Casual - Cayenne's arms had to be amputated off after the Sunforge fought with a trio of rocs. Vanora made her new prosthetics. - Cayenne is very proficient at dancing and singing. She excels especially in ribbon and (Japanese) fan dancing. - Additionally, she is also skilled in painting and drawing. - She wishes to be respected by many dragons one day. - Cayenne cannot swim, her electronic arms would only electrocute her. Thus, she fears water. - She owns a book filled with cut flowers. - She conceals some of her tools underneath her mantle. - Cayenne is sometimes called upon to demolish structures or to loosen, remove, or displace earth, rock, or other materials like a demolition expert. - Cayenne wonders why the clan keeps Pavati around. Pavati is an eternally young Nocturne appearing as a hatchling. She believes that she is a liability and that the clan wastes food on her. - Cayenne was unfamiliar with the magic in runes until she met Rowena. Barely understanding her magic and fearing the invisible form that the Coatl currently takes, Cayenne does not trust or like Rowena. - Radinen shares Cayenne's knowledge of plant life, though his expertise is poisonous plants. This has brought him and Cayenne close together. - In light of the Tidelord disappearance, Cayenne has felt the need to upgrade her arsenal. She has stayed up late nights further developing her technology. She now has mastered electromagnetism. Her prosthetic arms can separate at the wrists, her claws can now easily detach and reattach, making battling and maneuvering easy. - She and Vanora share engineering-related information and data from time to time. After all, it was Vanora who first developed her new arm. The two are close. Origin Story Cayenne's early years were simple, she and her family were nomads. They moved around every few months to wherever was flourishing the most. As such, she never had close friends outside her siblings. She didn't care though, among her family and brief friends she did make, she learned how to sing, dance, and became skilled at painting. However, this life gave her an abundance of knowledge regarding navigation and plant life. However, tragedy reared its ugly head and took the life of her father in the form of raiders. He had been the one supplying for the family, he was their brains and their heart. Without him, Cayenne's family was like a house without a foundation. And so, it collapsed. The remaining family members parted ways. After two weeks of wandering, she was taken in by a Wildclaw-dominant clan. She was young and naive at the time, something that they could mold, something they wanted. They taught her how to create and use explosives and poisons. Her knowledge in plant life only strengthening her proficiency in the latter. Due to the fact the clan consisted of mostly Wildclaws, duels were common. When she wasn't taking part in a duel (she was usually the dragon challenged), she was experimenting and tinkering with her tools. For some time, Cayenne had no friends. She preferred to keep to herself. However, one day she witnessed the most interesting duel. A Skydancer and Bogsneak, each appearing as equally dangerous and powerful as the other, fought. However, the Skydancer won with relative ease. Her performance was so stunning, that she felt compelled to ask for her name. The Skydancer was Xenia and the Bogsneak was Favian. The three, along with a Coatl named Araqiel, became close friends. They would always spend time together. Hunting, messing around, exploring... Eventually, Xenia and Cayenne became mates. There came a day when the group grew tired of the duels and endless wounds that never had time to heal. Cayenne had taken effort into hiding numerous scars behind linen. So, the four made a plan of escape. They burned down half the camp and met up in the forest that they had loved. The last bit had been suggested by Araqiel, who had actually set up a trap for the trio. They were met by a small squad of the clan's strongest and were nearly killed in the fight. However, they won and even almost managed to kill Araqiel. The remaining trio was now on the run. They would stay in a cave near the Hewn City Trading Post, as they had no home to live. They began to sell their belongings. Cayenne would dance and sing for money. During this time, they would gain a new member known as Vitra. He had recently been kicked out of his own clan and was looking for a new home. He had some treasure to contribute and later proved himself to be very good in magic. Eventually, they were not reeling in a lot of treasure and had begun to run out of food. So, they ditched the cave and eventually found the Lavaburst Clan where they were taken in as refugees. They were fed back to health. The group was interrogated by the Board of Superiors, explaining who they were and what they did. They were met with an interesting proposition- join and serve the clan and receive free food and housing. They took them up on it and became the Sunforge. Cayenne's Arsenal Cayenne, as an explosives specialist, has many weapons relating to bombs and the like. However, she also has crafted traps, tar, etc. Tools/Traps Tripwire Trap - A normal bomb that will be triggered if someone steps on or over a wire. Shukuchi Spring - Though the name suggests that the Shukuchi Spring is a spring, it's actually a bomb. Wow, surprising! This bomb is non-lethal and has only enough force to propel someone forward at a very swift speed. However, if Cayenne aims incorrectly and hits a very hard surface at a very fast speed... Concussion Blast - Cayenne throws a bomb that, alone causes very little damage, but has the ability to knock foes a long distance backward. It is mostly used to cause environmental deaths. It's a more powerful form of her Shukuchi Spring. Coal Tar - Cayenne throws a bomb that explodes upon hitting the ground, leaving tar everywhere. If her target comes into contact with the tar, she can set it ablaze using a bomb or fire. Even if she doesn't, the tar can still cause opponents to move slower or slip. Grenade Launcher - A contraption that can fire projectiles of high-caliber, such as bombs. Cayenne doesn't like to use this often, as it tends to cause a lot of collateral damage. Dance of Fire - Cayenne fires a flurry of grenades using her grenade launcher in an AoE attack. She spins around, damaging everything and everyone around her. This attack is very, very likely to cause collateral damage and friendly fire. Direct Icicle Grenade - These are made via a stunning combination of the Sunforge medic Ozias' Ice magic and Cayenne's perfected engineering. When these come into contact of something, they will explode into jagged icicles that protrude out of the impact area. Poisonous Grenade - When this grenade hits the ground, it will emit copious amounts of poisonous clouds. Lightning Mine - A mine featuring Cayenne's own Lightning magic. If stepped on, it will detonate it and lightning will crackle in a ten-meter radius. How strong the attack depends on the amount of magic Cayenne put in and her energy at the time. Sharp Bomb - An explosive packed with sharp objects such as claws, bones, needles, bits of metal, or etc. They are detonated from far away and are mostly used for hitting many targets at once. Bionic Arms Grapple - Using electromagnetism, Cayenne shoots the claws of an arm at a grab-able surface. A few seconds later, she uses electromagnetism to pull herself to wherever her claws had landed. Hook - Similar to Grapple, Cayenne uses electromagnetism to shoot the claws of an arm at an opponent or object and attempts to pull them closer to her. Long-Distance Punch - Cayenne shoots her fist or claws at an opponent for a swift punch or scratch and quickly reels her arm back in.   |
