When it came time for the unit to be created, she had been a decision maker, sitting next to the two leaders of the clan when it came to speaking her opinion. If Andromeda had an idea, everyone else was to sit silent and listen. The power was a perk, a high that Andromeda soon found herself addicted to. She knew how to use it correctly, but she also knew how to enjoy what she had. It had been her idea; the skulls that the unit was proud to sport. While most had scoffed at the idea, she had kept her ground firm, and for the first time, her word had become law. After a life where she was the last dragon in control, the feeling off the entire room listening was so new, and so amazing. Since then she has grown accustomed to the respect that everyone was to grant her, checking herself before her power trips could spiral into something dangerous. It had been close, but Andromeda had refused to become something she feared. Even when she had the option to exact revenge on those who had ruined her for years, she refused. Maybe the younger, naive version of herself would have pounced at the opportunity, Andromeda did not regret looking the other way. Still, she wondered what could have been... |

"Andromeda! How difficult must you make this, for the windsingers sake?" A voice snapped at her, making the younger dragoness flinch. Sparring day. One she could have enjoyed, if every dragon was not twice her size and refusing of holding back for little Andromeda. "I'm trying my best." She spoke calmly, knowing from experience matching the tone of those who were supposedly 'helping' her was a deathwish. "Your best clearly isn't good enough. If you can land more than one hit in, I'll end the session early." Her instructor groaned, clearly almost as done as the pearlcatcher was. Andromeda jumped at the opportunity, though it was no surprise when she had no chance of denting the much larger dragon. In fact, it was getting excruciatingly difficult to avoid getting clawed. The session had to be extended, just Andromeda's luck. And her mentors, from the exhausted look on her face. "Go, Andromeda. We'll continue this tomorrow morning, with Meza's permission." The larger of the two sighed, watching as the little dragon began to trot away, wings spreading in a preparation for a hasty flight. Right before she took off to the skies, a faint voice was heard behind her. "That little dragon is going straight to the frontlines.." And to the frontlines she went. Straight to the plaguelands, destined to be prey for the savages beyond infected walls. Instead, they taught her properly, giving her more than just the prowess she is known for now, but the first home she would call her own. |
