Personality: Sandai is not naïve; he’s just a kind and gentle soul, soft spoken and patient, the complete opposite of the curse that dwells within him. Information: Sandai carries the same curse as his father, Kitetsu. It’s a curse passed down through the Nature flight, and lays dormant within the dragon until it decides to strike, usually causing the dragon to black out and go on a bloody rampage. If the dragon remains conscious, they are unable to stop it, becoming imprisoned within their own bodies as the curse takes control. Some dragons, like Kitetsu, embrace the curse, even though they know the harm they can do. Others, like Sandai, look for a way to cure it.

Sandai is the third generation of dragons to live within the clan, along with his parents and grandmother. He was lucky, in a way, surpassing his siblings in strength and catching his father's attention, but that is not what earned him a right to stay within the lair. Sandai tends to be quiet, keeping mostly to himself. He isn't as sweet and kind as he looks, but it’s not his fault.
Kitetsu, Sandai’s father, has an evil secret within him and he passed it to Sandai. He can feel it lurking deep within him, making him want to lash out and hurt others, despite knowing better. Kitestu, knows just what this is like and tries to help, teaching Sandai all that he can on how to control it, temper it, and keep the beast that dwells deep inside him content. Kitetsu is not the best of help, however, even though he tries, for while Kitetsu has learned how to live with the curse, Sandai seeks to eradicate it from himself.
Ocarina is there to help, to offer her teeth, her voice and her claws in any way that she can, and Sandai knows she will. He knows she would give her life to help him find a way to deter the curse that courses through his veins. She's a strong and gentle soul and her wonderful singing voice can help to calm Sandai and make his familial curse bearable. That's not to say Ocarina can stop if from manifesting, because she can't, but same as Sandai’s father has his mother, Sandai has Ocarina, and between the two of them they are sure they can figure it out. Sandai is Ocarina’s charge and he knows she will not rest until her death to help him.
Sandai knows it will be hard and he will have to work extra diligently to keep himself in control. He's seen his father break, seen him wreak havoc upon the world and seen him draw blood where he shouldn't. Kitetsu has torn animals to pieces, left fellow dragons maimed and injured for life, yet Sandai isn't afraid of his father. Just the opposite in fact, because he's seen his father's unbreakable will crushed by this undeniable evil, Sandai wishes to find a way to harness it, control it and never let it corrupt again— for both him and his father's sake.

Sandai falls in love with Ocarina more and more every day, he can't help himself. Ocarina... Sandai would be lost without her and he knows it. He cherishes every moment he can spend with her and dreads the day that he might break in front of her and possibly injure her as his curse takes hold. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if he did. Their journey may take them far away from their home, these accursed lands that are nothing more than darkness and shadows, but Sandai doesn't mind having to leave all that he's ever known; not as long as he has Ocarina with him. |
