One of Argok’s more hot-headed guards, Red and her strength serve the clan well, even if her boss does get onto her for being too rash at times. She ends up paired with Kisara for assignments often, since the guardian’s calm demeanor tends to rub off on her. Red is a sight to behold in battle, tearing through her enemies like they’re nothing, though Ausha worries that she enjoys it a little too much.

- Hatchling Biography -
Born to a family of diplomats, Red’s hatching was seen as a blessing and her birth name reflected what her parents saw her as: a gift. It was quickly learned, however, that Red was a bit of a troublemaker, often wrecking the family’s den and getting into physical fights with other hatchlings.

In their frustration, Red’s parents became increasingly strict with her in an attempt to get their daughter to simmer down. It had the opposite effect, only stirring her inner fire even more, causing her to ignore direct orders and seek out places to hide where she would be unbothered.

- Adolescent Biography -
As Red grew and she was expected to follow the family tradition of becoming a diplomat and peacekeeper for the Plaguemother, the strained relationship with her parents only grew more tense. Arguing with her parents was useless, as they did not want to hear any excuses from her, so she took to hiding away more and more.

She’d run away for days at a time, channeling her frustration into battles with any creature willing to go up against her. She was self taught since her parents were against such unseemly things, so her fighting skills were not the greatest, but with time and practice, she knew she could become a fierce warrior.

Eventually, however, her parents, who ranked quite high in the clan, got the council involved. The higher ups backed her parents’ decision to ban her from leaving the clan’s grounds unless she was on a diplomatic mission, even going so far as to assign her a bodyguard, who was more like a glorified babysitter. When confronted with their new rules, Red grimly accepted, furious at what little freedom she had being ripped from her claws.

- Adult Biography -
Red grew into quite a diplomat, bringing honor to her parents and clan name, but she was ultimately deeply unhappy.

Her parents were just glad that she was obeying their rules, but Red knew she wouldn’t last long like this, so she made a very uncharacteristic decision and began planning. Preparations were made so she could disappear: training herself in secret, asking questions about certain paths, detours and unusable roads, taking extra at meal times to preserve for her inevitable escape, even training up and coming diplomats so the clan would have someone to replace her.

However, in the end, her temper got the best of her.

During a meeting with the council on how to proceed with a rather precarious case involving one of their allies from the Starfall Isles, the council made the decision to cut ties, for the safety of the clan. Outraged at such a selfish move, Red argued against the decision, but her argument was eventually overruled and she had to be forcefully removed from the room.

That night, in a fit of bitter rage, Red left and didn’t look back.

Wandering on her own ended up being a blessing, as she no longer had to take ridiculous orders from her family or the council. She bounced from place to place, making a name for herself as a talented bodyguard for hire.

Which is how Kisara found her, weapon out with her employer tucked safely behind her as a pack of dire hyenas closed in on them. At the sight of the white guardian, something thrummed in Red’s chest, but she shook it off as just being adrenaline.

The two dragons fought them off together, and while initially wary of the guardian’s help, Red accepted the offer of shelter. She stayed with the clan for a night before venturing on towards her destination, where she dropped off her ward and was paid a decent sum of money for her troubles. She took a couple more jobs before ending up back at the clan “for a break”, or so she told them. Really, she just wanted to visit Kisara.

Which she did and the two hit it off really well, but that strange feeling kept coming back, drawing her to Kisara for a reason she couldn’t figure out.

She stayed for about a week and a half, before Ausha asked her if she had a home to go back to. When Red said no, Ausha offered her membership and, thinking of Kisara and the mysterious feeling, she said yes.

Since she was already a bodyguard before joining, Red was appointed to the clan guard and escort team. She fit in well enough, getting along well with the other guards and showed great promise, even if her temper was something she needed to work on. Kisara worked with her most of the time, as their temperaments balanced the others out and Red had no complaints. Under her eye, Red became quite a force on the battlefield and the two spar often to sharpen their skills.

With every day that passed, the feeling in Red’s chest felt like it'd burst from her body on some days. She told Reda, a severe lapse in judgement on her part, and has regretted it ever since. Because Reda thinks she's in love.

She's not, really. It’s something else, something older and stronger. She’s not in love with Kisara, she’s not. It would be a completely different feeling, one that she definitely doesn’t feel on top of the other feeling that she can’t name.

Okay, so she might be in love with her best friend. No big deal, right?

Right?
