Biography
After the shism erupted into war, Matsuya continues to be fiercely loyal to the Plaguemother. She lost both a brother and a grandson when conflict first occured and prays that the secularists will come to respect the Plaguebringer as is her due. Her mate Lee fears for her well being following the events of the uprising.
Matsuya, like her father and her brother Toguro, is unusual among Ridgebacks in her willingness to spend time in the water. She is the more aggressive of the young siblings, and when there aren't any good water sources in the area she's just as willing to hunt mammals and large insects for the sake of her less pescavorous clanmates.
Spending more and more time in the hunting parties, she has finally piqued the interest of Lee, the young Tundra who became rather notorious for his obliviousness to princess Flabebe's interest not long ago. Their first litter was composed of three young dragons, the youngest of which died shortly after birth. Gaia and Ghetsis, the remaining children, have gone on to find mates of their own.
After the Lordship of Faith was claimed by the secularist Hindame, Matsuya's reverence for the Plaguemother has been reinvigorated. With the assistance of her mother Chibitori, Matsuya is one of the loudest voices in opposition to Orochimaru, and recently persuaded Lee to produce a second litter for traditional sacrifice--the first such nest since Hindame came to power.
Two children came from this nest, destined for sacrifice. The first hatchling was sent to Plaguemother without incident but the younger, a tundra boy, was defended by his elder sister Gaia. Driven by her duty, Matsuya knocked Gaia aside to get at the child.
With the death of her eldest child, Matsuya hesitated. The hatchling has been called Guy, in Gaia's honor, and is now in the care of Lan, her older niece.
