A B O U T
The first thing most dragons notice about Raphaelle is her looks. She is slender and fine-boned, draped in intricate lace and silky ruffles. At first glance, few would notice the armor underneath all of the finery or the wiry muscles beneath her gentle pastel pelt. She lets them underestimate her, let them think the handsome dragon in lace is harmless. Opponents won’t ever see her coming.

Their clanmates know them as a fearsome fighter with a soft, artistic spirit. They had originally developed a knack for sewing to mend any unfortunate rips or snags in the delicate fabrics they wear. They have become quite the accomplished designer, making all of their clothing themself. Working with the weaver Ophelia has given them the opportunity to sample a truly dazzling array of fabrics, expanding their skill and offering a variety of clothing choices to their clanmates.

Raphaelle has a generous heart, sewing leftover scraps into dolls resembling some of the many fantastical creatures he encounters. These are gifted to the hatchlings he often volunteers to watch over in the eyrie, playing games of pretend with the little ones and helping to brood eggs from time to time.

Though he will teach a few defensive moves to help hatchlings protect themselves, he leaves the true combative training to his partners. Carina is a notable exception to this. The young dragon latched onto him immediately after learning of his dual professions, and Raphaelle seems to be the dragon whose opinion and advice she consistently listens to.

H I S T O R Y
Raphaelle was the youngest from a clutch hatched to social-ladder-climbing semi-nobility. They were expected to adhere to strict codes of etiquette, look preened and perfect, and someday be mated to a wealthy dragon for their family’s political gain. That future interested them very little. They dreamed of being a knight, but, though their parents indulged them with fencing lessons, anything beyond that was out of the question.

She ran away before she came of age, leaving behind the ample inheritance without a second thought. She quickly found that life as a commoner was far more difficult than she had anticipated, but the fledgeling was tenacious and eventually earned an apprenticeship to a knight. She spent decades training, learning to take advantage of dragons’ misconceptions about her to soundly defeat them.

Not long after graduating to knighthood, she crossed paths with Thymari and Hermia, an esteemed mercenary duo. Having spent no time at all in those circles, she had no idea of their fame and prowess. When Hermia poked fun at the soft fluffs of lace that she wore over her armor, Raphaelle challenged her to a spar. Removing her delicate laces and laying them aside, she proceeded to wipe the dirt with the coatl.

Raphaelle then dusted themself off, slipped on their finery, and offered to help clean up Hermia’s scratches and scrapes. Hermia accepted, returning the favor. Hermia and Thymari were thoroughly impressed, enough to offer them a position in their partnership. It was the start of a relationship that would only grow with time.

The trio’s travels eventually led them through a clan that had been recently met with misfortune. Raphaelle was immediately drawn to one of the remaining fighters there, Commander Andromache. They shared the story of a clan touched and broken by Shade. Those few dragons that remained planned to relocate to new territory, far away from the traumas that had befallen them.

All three elected to accompany them on the long journey that would cross several flights, offering much-needed protection. By the time they reached their final destination in the Dragonhome, Raphaelle and her partners had formed bonds with several of the clan dragons and especially with the clan's new leader, who had once filled the position of commander. They decided to stay, helping the clan back to its feet, and making a home for themselves.
