Aurelio is the perpetually anxious leader of the Sanctuary dragons. In terms of permanent members the lair consists only of Aurelio, his mate and son, and his great uncle. As a result of their clans size Aurelio is constantly afraid of being attacked either by other hostile dragons or nearby beast clans. He devotes much of his time to creating various defenses throughout the massive lair and hiding valuables in different locations. Born in the land of Light as the third son of the head of the Three Rivers trading company. A wealthy merchants guild in the heart of the Mirrorlight Promenade. Aurelio was raised with the intention of becoming a merchant himself and was even supposed to marry Adevia, the only daughter of a textile mogul. He had committed himself to this carefully plotted future for most of his youth, but that quickly changed when Lamina was assigned as his personal guard. Aurelio fell madly in love with her and over time Lamina returned his affections. Aurelio went to his father to ask that he be allowed to marry her but his father insisted there was too much invested in his union with Adeva. Unable to convince his father Aurelio and Lamina decided to elope and fled the Light flight together. Unable to remain in familiar territory Aurelio and Lamina decided to make their way to the Earth flight. The Nocturne had inherited what he believed to be a small parcel of land when his great uncle was presumed dead and he had the forethought to grab the deed before fleeing his home. However, neither of them had knowledge of the Earth flight or where the land was exactly. They used what few funds they had left to hire Glesum, an experienced canyon guide who took pity on the young couple. The three of them spent weeks navigating the maze of canyons and in the course of the journey rescued a lone dragon egg from a tangle of Serthis. The egg hatched a few days later and a little yellow Wildclaw hatchling crawled free from it. Neither Lamina more Aurelio intended to become parents at that point in their lives but both fell immediately in love with the hatchling and decided to raise him as one of their own. Though Aurelio was more than happy to leave his extravagant lifestyle behind him for the sake of being with the one he loved he still enjoys dressing the part. He dons himself in a collection of fine silks and gold jewelry, most of which was pilfered from the lair they now live in. His favorite piece is a large heavy decorative headpiece he found several days after he and his family moved in and he likes to wear it on important occasions. Upon finally finding the land and lair he’d been gifted Aurelio and his family made several discoveries. The first being that the lair was many times larger than documented. Second, and much more shocking, was that Matvei was not dead. Mad yes, but very much alive and sitting atop a veritable treasure trove of valuables as well as a room filled with massive deactivated magical portals. The next few years were spent fortifying the lair and attempting to convince other dragons to settle there without much success. Now that one of the Arche’s have activated, that is set to change for better or worse. |
