There'd always been this faint calling inside Nalani. That calling that had made her leave her clan when she was barely three days old, and travel trough the Southern Icefield on her own. She almost froze to death that day. A friendly clan took her in, but Nalani knew she couldn't stay. She didn't know about Draconastris, let alone what it meant - to her, especially. Because she was born from a wish. And she wouldn't rest until she fulfilled it. She learned about it later on her journey. She was with a clan of the shadows at that time. An old Draconastris sensed her presence. They took the young wildclaw under their wing, taught her how to conjure the glittering smoke only they could control, and how to use their magic. But it didn't last long. The old dragon died. Nalani moved on. Finally, she joined a clan of the winds, hoping desparately that they could help her. She grew fond of the clan members unusually quick. Especially of an icy-blue Coatl they called Chioni. |

It was Chioni who introduced Nalani to alchemy. She loved it from the first second. She loved it. All the bright colors, the glowing essences, the shimmering whirls of mist above her cauldron. It was just like astral magic, just... different. Better.
Nalani wasn't really talented with magic. But with alchemy, thoughts and recipes just popped into her mind, and often enough, they proved useful. Chioni was impressed. He was always so kind and patient while teaching her. She really, really liked him. And so, she couldn't help but wonder about his scarred soul, and what had hurt him so bad. But he didn't tell. It wasn't until she ran up to Chioni, proudly showing him her glowing blue claws, just like his red ones - result of a specially made potion, spilled over them just a little - that she realized that the calling had stopped. Chioni then told her about his wish, the wish that had brought her to life. He'd wished for someone to stay. And so she did. |
