Biography
. . .dorian coral-bone "i am living proof of the hubris of gods." |

━━ about ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Some would call Dorian "old." Some would call him "ageless," and a few that he considers foolish would call him "immortal." What is known about him is that he's the oldest patriarch and progenitor of the Coral-Bone clan, and likely a distant relative of the young Covenant Coral-Bone, oracle of Notus Silver. His knowledge of his craft is unparalleled, and many say it backs up his claim as their forefather. For this reason, beneath the great sea, in the depths of an underwater grotto, Dorian lay locked away by a now deceased patriarch of his clan. Lives came and went afterwards as Dorian lay upon his bed of sand, awaiting his freedom. And Dorian never forgot. By the time he was released, hoping to mentor a supposedly hopeless descendant of his, Covenant, Dorian had all but set his course on the death of his clan. Covenant was a young, arrogant girl, believing herself to be the greatest her clan would see. Dorian asked her, "Do you wish to be proven wrong?" She did not. Yet he did anyway - Releasing every ounce of power he had stored within, Dorian caused the waves to stir and strike out at a clan that had long since forgotten the betrayal of their ancestor, long since been told that Dorian's imprisonment was a necessity. Only then did he prove that it was. Few remained in the territory of the Coral-Bone family, and they cowered to their first. And they asked him why. Many moons later, Dorian took to traveling the world, only meeting Covenant again by chance. It was there that he met her mentor, Tidus, who had managed to help the girl mature. Covenant asked Dorian what he had done long ago, and Dorian, sensing how broken her spirit was, could not answer. Out of guilt, he stayed close to her. She called him "uncle." Forgave him. It was in this moment that Dorian realized his hubris, and quietly bowed to the two oracles, committing himself to them. Covenant had known nothing, not deserved to be a victim of his, and had been forgiving. After everything, Dorian wonders if stone would hold him better. |
