Quote:
Creepy travelling salesman who just shows up and probably stole your cake.
Vasyl has traveled Sornieth, hawking his wares to many a clan. At first he is accepted gratefully, a friend bringing much needed wares, but he ends most visits followed by a mob that can never quite catch him, and a funerary procession not long after.
Vasyl comes into clans on his small cart, pulled by whatever pack animal or enchanted object he last purchased, his wife by his side. The two, Vasyl and his beloved Sunday, strike everyone who comes to meet them as friendly and kind. Only in hindsight to they realize that Vasyl looked upon them with pity, as inferiors, not with the humble kindness they had at first believed.
Vasyl would offer goods of all varieties from all corners of Sornieth to anyone who dared listen. He did this with the air of a showman, as if the greatest reward of his business was the interaction. But the showmanship was only for Vasyl's ego, his way of flaunting his own perfection.
Vasyl's narcissism coming across as humility and kindness, in part due to Sunday's magic and in part due to the charm that he did indeed have, meant he had no difficulty in gaining the trust of the locals. It was not difficult to get them alone, nor was it difficult to keep them quiet until Sunday arrived. When she did, her magic would quiet the dragon so Vasyl could work.
His work meant making use of the cleaver constantly hung about his waist, the one no one ever noticed, again thanks to Sunday. The purpose of the business was largely the enjoyment of the murderers, but the choice of victims revealed another facet of their motive. The dragons chosen were always ones with exceptional strength, be it magical or physical. Sunday had developed a method of taking the strength of others and adding it to her own, or Vasyl's. It just required some bloodshed.
Due to Sunday's technique, Vasyl possesses abnormal strength, but it does not compare to the power of his own narcissism. The only one Vasyl loves more than himself is Sunday, whom he adores. Vasyl is not the brightest, but he has manipulation down to an art. Although he can't take all the credit, Sunday's magic does play a role.
