Lonari

Least Concern The large emerald is a moth found throughout the Palearctic region and the Near East in and around deciduous forests, heathlands, marshland and in settlements close to woodland. As the name suggests, this large and attractive moth is very butterfly like with a wingspan of 50–65 mm. Newly emerged adults are distinctive pale green with slightly darker green and, especially, white fascia, though the green colouration fades after a few days. The characteristic white fascia take the form of three jagged, broken lines of white spots on the forewings, of which two semicircular rows continue over the hindwings. These moths are common, and not considered at risk of extinction.

Fun Fact: The hibernating larva is a reddish brown colour matching dead leaves. It turns green after hibernation to match spring leaves.

Lonari came to Owl Wood as a very young dragon, eager to take on ambassadorial duties. He enjoys time outdoors, particularly to walk along the clifftops alongside the sea, where he has been known to fly a kite from time to time (to the great amusement of the youngsters). He has now become one of the elder statesdragons in our clan.

Subspecies lore by Pachirisu

Spring Breezes were originally created in one of Windsinger's many visits to the Viridian Labyrinth. It was a warm and still day, and Windsinger brought a sweet cooling breeze with him, and out of that breeze popped a few lovely green dragons with evidence of that breeze on their hides.

Not all Breezes were alike, of course. A few reflected the clear sky on the day of their creation with hints of blue, and others sparkled like the sunlight had on that day.
