Breeding

The main focus of FR is breeding dragons.Because of this, the dragon market is oversaturated and it can be hard to sell anything that you've bred. The exceptions are dragons that have the latest genes, it strikes someone's fancy, or it's fodder priced. Don't let this deter you from breeding things that you think are pretty. If you ever have questions on what to sell the hatchlings for, you can always ask up. We'll make sure to give you a fair price. If anything, we'll probably buy your fodder hatchilings! Until you get into the Coli and you start breeding your own fodder for profit.

Forums

I recommend popping your nose into the forums. You don't have to make friends and comment on everything if you don't want to but make sure to check out the services that are offered in Fire's forums. You'll find many valuable things to take advantage of as a new player.

Daily Rounds

Try and make a daily habit of visiting the Gathering Items tab, Nesting Grounds, and Trading Post. Each day, you get so many gathering turns to use to get food, junk and special items. If you have dragons on a nest, they have to be incubated for 5 days and will hatch on the 6th. Don't worry if you miss a day. Nothing will happen to your nest; it'll just take an extra day to hatch.

In the trading post, you'll find Swip's Swap Stand where you can swap the random junk you accumulate for rarer items. It'll take awhile for you to build up the junk in your hoard so he won't be useful to you just yet. Above him you'll find Tomo. She'll ask you ten questions a day and each of them is worth 300T. If you use this guide:
Tomo's Trivia Guide. Next to Tomo, you'll find Crim. Every hour, she'll offer you 500T for 5 items. If you have them, trade them in and make some cash! Just be careful because Crim will trick you. Crim will ask you for Eliminate, Berserk, and Ambush stones. These stones are worth A LOT OF TREASURE. A lot more than Crim would offer you so make sure to double check with any of us if you aren't sure about something. She'll also try to trick you out of your apparel items that would go for a lot more if sold on the AH. If in doubt, please ask one of us, or refuse the trade. Next to Crim is her brother Pinkerton. He'll give you one item that he's stolen from Crim's hoard so it's always best to visit him. The last dragon in the Trading Post if Baldwiin. Here you can throw your junk into his cauldron and get back raw materials (mats) that can be used to brew neat items, familiars, or even eggs, genes, and breed scrolls. It take 30 minutes for an item to be turned into a mat so make sure to check back often. The higher level your cauldron is, the cooler stuff you can make. Some of it can even be sold for a decent amount of money to other players.

Hoard and Vault

This is where all your food, materials, mats, apparel, and other things are stored. When in your Hoard tab, you'll notice a chest wrapped in chains in the right corner. This is your vault and it's where you will want to store things that you don't want to accidentally sell to Crim, sell by mis-click, open, whatever. It keeps your items safe. It also holds a place where you can deposit your treasure and gems that you earn. It's a great way to save your money. Out of sight; out of mind!

What's a Gen 1 and Why Should I Care?

Your first two dragons are Generation One dragons. What this means is that they have no parents. They are the beginning of a line. You can't sell your progens but you can exalt them. Keep in mind that this will not give you any treasure, you might seriously regret it, and it takes months to get them back.
Another way to get a Gen1 dragon is to hatch an egg that you come across while scavenging, fighting in the Coli, brew, or buy off the AH. Hatching an egg is a lot like gambling. The odds of it having good colors, being a variation of xxy, or even a super rare xxx is incredibly low. Most eggs you hatch will produce the ugliest hatchlings you've ever seen. Of course, this doesn't mean you should exalt them. Throw them onto the AH for a few days to see if they get any interest. You never know what people might find interesting and buy. Better yet, show it to us. There's a good chance one of us will buy it!
