Information about the Coliseum

What is this Coli you're always complaining about and why should I care?

The Coli (coliseum) is where you will take your dragons to fight the Beast Clan monsters, level your dragons, get loot, and train fodder. Once you've gotten yourself a team of properly statted and stoned fighters, you're ready to start rolling in the dragon cash!

Training your first team

Wanna make some money? Of course you do! Before you go getting all excited, the first thing you have to do is train up 2 to 3 dragons to level 25. This is the highest level a dragon can go to and it will allow you to enter the higher level venues to fight stronger monsters, get food worth more food points, and a chance at rarer loot! Also, this means you can grind fodder and start exalting for profit!
Normally, I'd recommend choosing three dragons that you're okay with staring at for the next five years cause there's a good chance, unless you get seriously addicted to Coli, that you won't want to level another dragon to 25. It takes awhile, it's boring as hell, and your wrist is going to hurt. Lucky for you, I leveled two dragons up to 10 for you so you'll have a head start. These guys, along with the lvl 17 Blue gave you, will help tremendously. I recommend staring in a lvl 12 venue and seeing how long you can last. If your dragons die too quickly, move down a venue until they manage to level up.

As you go, you're going to want to go into the Abilities and Stats panel under the Coli screen to add points to your dragons attack, vitality, and quickness. Don't bother putting stats into anything else because once your dragons are lvl 25, you'll be using a special item called a Tincture of Dissolution to redistribute their stats the way this guide recommends: How to Train Your Dragon by Duke

This is the bible followed by anyone that is serious about using the Coli to make money. The stones that are recommended are easy to get ahold of for the most part and can be put on the drgaon as you level them to help them during battles. The sad thing is that you're going to have trouble getting the most valuable one: the Eliminate stone. Without this stone, exalting for profit will be nearly impossible. When it comes time for your dragon to need one, (lvl 17, I think) come talk to us. I'm more than willing to give you one on a payment plan at a decent price.

Exalting for profit

Leveling and exalting fodder is the best and quickest way to make money. Once you have a set of dragons who are properly outfitted, you can take two trainers and a fodder into the Mire venue to fight until they are between lvl 6-8. I recommend lvl 7 as you can reach it quicker and it gives a good pay rate. Because grinding the Coliseum can get boring, lots of people open two windows and watch a movie or youtube while they grind. I recommend this. It'll make time go a lot faster.

Not all dragons are statted equally

If you decide that you don't hate the Coli and you want to see what else you can do to maximize your money flow, you can look into different dragon builds. The one recommended in the guide I linked is called a Glass Cannon build. This is the standard build everyone usually starts with but the most recommended build for maximum profit is a Mire Flyer.

If you've noticed, all dragons are the element of the nest they were born in. To make a proper Mire Flyer, you need a dragon born in an Arcane nest. They require most of the same stones as your other dragons but they're faster and not as strong. They can go into the Mire on their own with two fodder dragons. The only downside to this is that they have a hard time taking the fodder beyond level five. It's a great build if you're in the heat of a large Dom battle and need to pump out fodder quickly for a Mercenary order but not so much if you want lots of money outside of battles.
I recommend taking your Flyer into the Mire with a Glass Cannon and a fodder. In about 1 minute, barring uncooperative mobs, your fodder will already be lvl 5. Another couple minutes and they'll be 7 and you can move onto the next one. The speed of the Flyer and the Strength of the Cannon balances each other out and makes the perfect money making duo.

Maximizing profit

The best way to squeeze as much money out of your dragons is to focus on expanding your lair. The more fodder you can hold, the more cheap hatchlings you can buy. If you buy a hatchling for 4kt and exalt it for 11kt, you just make a 7kt profit. You'll make even more if there's a Dom battle going on. The same level 7 I could exalted for 11,500t, I sold to one of the conquesting flights Saturday and made 21,750kt per dragon. I sent in 40 dragons. I made over 1 million treasure by doing this.

Expand your lair, pay attention to Dom battles, and exalt your hands off.

Ways to make money that don't require as much effort

If you decide that Coli is just too much work or too boring, there are other, slower, ways for you to make money.
If you're internet is fast and your reflexes faster, you can sit in the Marketplace and refresh every five minutes (:05, :10, :15, etc) and snipe apparel that you can resale at a mark up on the AH. This requires knowing what's popular and keeping a constant eye on fluctuating prices in the AH. You always want to price check before you sell anything.

If that doesn't interest you, you can breed fodder hatchlings and sell them as adult or buy cheap hatchings and adult and flip them for more.

Exalting Jabril to the service of the Flamecaller will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
