Biography
"I don't have long, so I have to show as much love for this world that I can."[/center]
Name: Zubaida
Pronouns: she/her
Mate: none
Personality: peaceful, quiet, kind, sorrowful, generous
Occupation: librarian
At first, it was thought the cause of Zubaida's dull white feathers was just unlucky genetics. They hoped the coatl was not as ill as she seemed.
Unfortunately, luck was not in their favor. As she grew older, she did not grow stronger. Some days were worse than others and she wasn't even able to leave her den. The shimmer of her wings only grew duller and duller.
Her parents loved her, but they could not take care of her for reasons she was too young to comprehend. Perhaps her father thought of the love his own mother showed him when he had left his old clan. The time came that they gently broke the news to her that she was going to have to move into another clan prematurely.
"I'll be okay," she promised them.
At the time, her new home was small. They knew of the sickness of white coatls, yet welcomed her with open arms.
"We don't have a definite healer yet," Aeria told her, "but we have more than enough herbal medicines to go around. If you need anything, just let me know, okay?"
And so she stayed. Her new clan loved her like their own family. She felt right back at home. Slowly, she made a name for herself as she buried herself in her own studies. For her own safety, she knew she was not fit for much else. If a dragon needed a book, she was the one to ask.
"You may as well be our librarian," someone said once, and Zubaida smiled.
"May I, then?"
And so Zubaida threw herself into her book collections, and when she emerged, pulled them out with her. It took a long time to truly organize her books for public eye as she discovered her system was far different from the traditional library's. She ended up improvising some decisions, simply asking her customers to sign their name and the book they're borrowing on a paper (although she had to add multiple posters reminding them of this as more Ridgebacks joins the clan).
There was no official employment, no charge or monetary gain (the experience was all Zubaida wanted), nothing of the sort. It was just natural. Zubaida likes it that way.
Zubaida will pass away soon. She has made peace with this, and just hopes those she loves will soon move on, too.
