Player of a Two-Sided Mind

Matthowny:

A friendly Tundra who is half forgetful goofball and half cunning mastermind. Normally, he is the sweet-hearted and lovable former, but he accidentally switches personalities whenever he's struggling with a mental challenge.

His "dark" side is incredibly aloof and curt, even showing off with a coolness that comes off as frosty. However, this problem-solving side hones in on puzzles and conundrums and finds a solution with genius speed.

His "light" side is a lovable airhead who has admittedly few talents outside of being a good friend. But being a good friend is often enough. This side of Matthowny is a warm and kind people-pleaser who treats the symptoms of his friends' distress rather than cracking the root of the issue.

Matthowny's sides are very definitively split, and he changes between them like the flip of a switch. When asked what's going on with him, he describes it as his two halves internally playing a chess match, trying to decide who is the real Him. This struggle is something that both sides show concern about.

He does play chess with other dragons, and surprisingly can go through a whole match without switching to his dark genius side. Apparently, a mental challenge in the form of a fun game doesn't warrant a switch.

After meeting and joining ranks with Quin and Timneh, he completed a trio of dragons who seek the answer to their true identities, amid a historical event that threatens them all.
