THE HOTHEAD

Place of Origin: The Gladeveins (Clan-Born)
Mate: Verona
Backstory: Antonio was born into the Clan of the Shaded Wood by the coatl Tamarindo and the lovely wildclaw Limon. However, Tamarindo did not want to take Limon as his permanent mate, instead favoring the ambitious Uvita. As a result, Antonio grew up almost solely under the guidance of his mother. While Tamarindo made some effort, their interactions were mostly strained, Antonio holding quite a bit of bitterness towards his father and stepdragoness. Unlike his hatchmates, Antonio was the only dragon who chose to stay with the clan, mostly due to his attachment to his mother and dedication to his clan of birth.

Verona: Once, while Antonio was out on a solo hunting trip, he came across the solitary den of the coatl Verona. She quickly offered him a gift in peace, and Antonio found himself rather interested in the coatl's wanderings, as well as taken with her beauty. He decided then that, in order to keep in contact with the coatl, he would bring her food to help her. Over several months Antonio grew very close to Verona, and asked her to return to his clan with him and become his mate, to which she readily accepted.


Hunter: When he grew old enough to start helping the clan with its many duties, it was discovered that Antonio had a special talent for hunting. He often brought back just as much prey, sometimes even more, than many of the seasoned adults. Winona immediately recognized his value to the clan and promoted him to full hunter status, rather than apprentice, and would often praise his accomplishments. In this way, Antonio had found his niche within the clan and swore to always serve the Clan of the Shaded Wood.

Gembond: Since neither of Antonio's parents carried the disease gembond, he did not inherit it. Instead, Antonio was infected by an emerald striker while out on a hunting trip. He seems to enjoy it, however, as the blight seems to only enhance his good looks.
