In the aftermath of her death at the hands of Apex during the failed clan rebellion, Ryuk's spirit was sent beyond the Veil to the afterlife. She was given a second chance at life by Lightweaver centuries later and set off to her old home. There she found the remains of the clan's cavern; most of the banners torn and statues smashed beyond recognition.
Ryuk stayed in the cave, halfway between life and death in her ghostly new form. Years passed and she fell into a deep sleep. There she remained, until one day the pearlcatchers Eris and Discord led a familiar face to her door.

Ryuk crueler than she was in life. She is quiet, pessimistic, and bitter where she once was kind and optimistic.
Her goals of escaping Apex's cult and traveling the world died with her; Ryuk now dreams of seeing her old body and friends once again.
