Vladimir von Batty was born a true vampire. He had not been bitten to become one. In such a way, it led him to be a powerful being in his own right. Though, it wasn't as if Vladimir didn't have his own troubles. For one, drinking blood seemed to make him sick. He didn't like the taste of the blood he was given to eat. In most cases, he refused to eat at all. Not drinking blood meant that your body weakened, and you were weaker than others. In the very beginning of his life, Vladimir was labeled the Black Sheep, and he was overpowered by others. At the beginning, he was not the one to be feared rather he feared others.

Well, at least, he feared others until he drank the blood of a dragon to get out of a situation. It was terrible for him, but he had found his strength. Vladimir tore through dragons and vampires a like as he tried to escape whatever was happening to him at the time. It was only when the elders stopped him that others realized Vladimir was powerful. He was one of the more powerful vampires whenever he finally ate his meals. In such a way, it had forced him to become a guardian and hunter for the clan. All rogue vampires were hunted by him. Few rogue vampires ever escaped Vladimir, and they paid dearly whenever he caught up to them.

But, he continued to only eat as much as he needed to keep his strength up -- blood still seemed to taste horrible to him. Well -- until he met his mate, Khojin, -- then it all seemed to change. Her blood smelled sweet and delicious. When he had first gotten to taste her blood, it tasted like candy to him. It was intoxicating. He decided to keep the dragon with him in his den to use her as his food source. He hadn't expected to become attracted to her. It kept his Black Sheep title at the forefront of everybody's minds. He was the Elders hunting dog, and he seemed to get away with a lot of things.

Though, they do tend to ignore his Dhampire children -- like they don't even exist.
