The Ritualist
Ceremonial overseer of ritual sacrifice in the clan, working directly with The Priestess to ensure the proper procedures and rites for those dragons for whom ritual sacrifice is desired or most appropriate. Sacrifice: An Offering to a Deity Liminal is a fifth tier dragon in the hierarchy, working directly under The Priestess Lilith, who has oversight of all death-related rites and practices for the clan. His specialty lies in the ritual sacrifice of dragons intended for the Lightweaver's ranks; some dragons choose this honourable fate, but ultimately the Matriarch and the Priestess may elect to nominate any sacrificial dragon they wish.

Familiar Sparkle Nymph Alignment True Neutral Originated The Beacon of the Radiant Eye Despite being a beautiful dragon, there is something...not quite right about Liminal. This dark, light-speckled Fae appears not quite of this world. His eyes are always bound, and an ethereal breeze seems to accompany him wherever he goes. He is unerringly quiet, and has never been heard to speak. Somehow, it is clear his devotion to the Lightweaver borders on the fanatical. Yet, he is never anything but perfectly silent, dignified, and honestly, quite frightening. An ink-blot apparition, a ruthless ritual master - for those dragons who seek to remain earthbound, who do not yearn to join the Lightweaver quite yet or perhaps ever, the knowledge that he wields both the influence and the power to send them anyway is disquieting. After all, joining the Lightweaver is no gentle thing. Exaltion is revered, yes, but it is achieved through destruction of the earthly vessel. The rituals are bloody, and grim. The knives, wicked sharp, are carved with likenesses of their Goddess. To be made an offering to her is the finest death, but is is death nonetheless. No one really knows if passing through the veil in this way, instead of any other, hurts any less, nor if the dragon who joins the ranks of the Lightweaver's heavenly host is the same as the one who left the mortal plain, really. Nonetheless, Liminal is the last thing many of the Avarice clan dragons will ever see on Sornieth. For some, it is not a reassuring sight. |
