Lissome

Lissome was always a strange child, though certainly not in a problematic way. While other hatchlings would delight in dreams of the Coliseum or of setting flight to lands far from home, Lissome was more often found tucked into the deepest parts of the ruins trying to make sense of less-than immaculate tablets or chasing after the lesser seen magics of the place. Though eccentric, she always seemed to fall into line, say the right things and be a model citizen when it came down to it.

Until Orvokki came, that was.

With saccharine words on his tongue he lead her, will-o'-the-wisp into corruption; took her name and shrouded it in darkness and she fell. Whispers of greatness cradled her and changed her, made her don her mask and wrap herself in lies.
She's quiet still, but now there's a blackness that lurks between her feathers, a necrotic song that whistles between her teeth. Her eccentricities flit at the edges of her words and seeps into the glass in which she tempts the Fates forward.
But there's a glint in here eyes, faint, behind the cursed bone.

Perhaps there's still some innocence left in her yet.
