In the mudbrick entryway of the Murkbarrow lair, several fresh planks have been hammered together to make a surprisingly sturdy second story. Colourful cushions are scattered across the perch, gathered into the occasional pile for a nest. Contrary to the crowded attic, only a few dragons live here; the creaking bones and tattered wings of the elders find rest and entertainment on this vantage point, watching dragons enter and leave the lair below.
A weathered veteran and an experienced strategist, Deri joined the raiding parties of the Trio only weeks after the Seed was unleashed in the Scarred Wasteland. Nobody can say he lacks loyalty, but his loyalty has a habit of applying to the bidder with the highest survival chances. When accused of acting out of self-interest, he argues that the loyalty of a soldier is only useful when that soldier isn't dead.

Darvena's co-conspirator and lifelong partner, Deri balances out her silver tongue with straightforward honesty and a prickly temper. Despite his barbs, his decisions are often well thought through and he can always be trusted to have the clan's best interests at heart. He's content to spend his retirement telling war stories to hatchlings and taking more than his share of free food.
