WIP-- Dakari has the body of an adult and the mind of a hatchling. This condition is not due to any deformity, but is a result of a lack of care during his cubhood days. Shortly after he was born he was tossed in a room and left to fend for himself. It was a harsh upbringing, one he not only survived, but surpassed. Dakari doesn't have a harsh bone in his body. The young Guardian has an innocent and loving heart, which easily seduced the clan that took him in. Seprina started teaching the young drake the moment he was able to start learning. Dakari loves going to school and learning along with his schoolmates (just don't tell him that he doesn't fit in the seats). His mind is like a sponge, everything he is taught he absorbs and there is no indication of this talent diminishing. Thus far, Dakari has grown from a toddler mentality to that of a grade schooler. At the rate he is learning and growing it is expected that in the next few years he will have graduated from the higher learning schools. Until then, he is content with going to class and spending time with his family. He takes particular enjoyment with helping the Herbalists find their plants and has shown an interest in Elara's bug farms. The entomologist has invited him to help her several times, because he is so gentle with the bugs and mindful of her experiments. He does get upset with her when she pins the insects onto a board, however. Dakari is still a very sensitive adolescent and being that he has the body of a very large adult that can sometimes equal to bad situations. There was more then once that his fits have destroyed parts of the lair. He is currently learning how to use his words and not throw fits. It's a slow process, but it seems to be helping the young one better control his temper tantrums. |

Background Report on subject Dakari [Recording] by Scout Commander Blaze Today is the 12th day of the Month of Earth. I am giving the report on Dakari's background probe. I would like to note first and foremost that this has not been an easy mission. The crap that I've seen during this process has made even me nauseous and I have seen some disgusting things in my life. The nightmare that poor cub has had to endure-- I was hopeful never to see another cub abuse case like this again. A long sigh can be heard coming from the commander, followed by the gentle rustling of cloths. Lets begin. Dakari was born in the month of Fire on the 20th day; he is precisely 50 years of age putting him in the early stages of his young adulthood. Dakari comes from an unnamed clan that borders the shadow and plague lands, clearly favoring the Plague side. This group, Blaze places emphasis on the word group, are a bunch of blood thirsty killing machines. How Drakari came from the stock amazes me. From the Intel we have gathered we discovered that he comes from a subspecies line of dragons that are referred to as the *Black Blood drakes. We have little on the clan itself as Arra refused to let the scouts get too close to them. It was a call I agree wholeheartedly with. After witnessing what they did to an unsuspecting merchant who wandered too close to their lands, there was no way I was sending my drakes in there. This subspecies appears to be a minor and mostly unknown one, or at least this is the case according to Sionyn. The good emissary knew nothing of them when initially asked, but she did look for them. What she found made my toes curl. There is a pause in Blaze's speech and rustling about can be heard from the recorder. It appears that the CGS had been made aware of them some time ago and the ambassador they sent to speak to them was ripped limb from limb. The Counsel refused to send anyone else out, calling the group too dangerous to confront. They were placed on the hostile and endangered list and have since been there. They were able to delve a little deeper into the mystery of this subspecies by questioning the surrounding clans. Naturally, most of what they garnered was superstition and myth, but an adequate amount of those wild tales coincided enough for them to make a fair determination on what they were. Again, the commander pauses and three taps, as if a claw were bouncing against a table top, can be heard over the recorder. I would like to make it clear now that neither my scouts nor the CGS have confirmed beyond a reasonable doubt this following information. The situation was just too dangerous for any sane drake to send others into that frenzy of madness. According to the CGS the Black Blood dragons are an unnatural conglomeration of magic and science, thought up by an unsavory drake that went by the name of Medusa. The "Black Blood" were created when the mad scientist, witch, whatever she was injected various eggs with a serum of black magic, highly concentrated shadows from the depths of hell, and obsidian steel. This caused their blood to actually turn black and on top of that was undoubtedly responsible for the mental instability that causes the blood lust. Naturally, I became alarmed for Dakari after finding out the facts of his parentage. I had Lady Stormy examine him again and she reported back that he showed only the external appearance of the subspecies. He didn't have the black blood and therefore he didn't have the instability. Provided all of that information on the subspecies isn't straight up malarkey, I theorize that is the reason he was left in a room to rot. Blaze can be heard riffling through paper before he snorts. It's a theory that Arra took upon herself to discover. By the way, remember to suspend Arra for a few days; the risk to her life on this wasn't warranted. Yeah, we all love Dakari, but we could have found out a different way. Returning to the report, Scout Captain Arra proceeded out to the known location of the Black Blood subspecies. Thankfully, she had enough sense to stay only on the outskirts of their territory. Which, it appears, was all she needed to get the following report. According to what she discovered abandoned buildings were used to rear the offspring away from the main body of the group. Those hatchlings that were clearly not of the blood were outright killed. All of the others were taken and placed in individual huts and locked in. These huts were along the road where merchants travel and it was a fitting test to see which of their offspring earned the blood lust. It's also how we learned about it. Arra observed a few of the young adults breaking through their prisons to attack and ultimately devour a lost merchant. They wandered back into their parents territory after what was undoubtedly their first real meal since hatching. She reported that she heard several of the younger hatchlings madly scratching at the door in an attempt to get out. They simply were not strong enough to do so. All of the others were left to starve to death. Arra recovered four untainted cubs from their prison and put down two of the older ones. She couldn't bring herself to destroy the cubs though. Blaze offered a soft snort. I can't say I blame her, it's difficult to be so cold hearted. She did however report the mess to the closest clan, leaving them to deal with it. Dakari had been in that hell for fifty years before someone was kind enough to let him out. He had been sustaining himself off of the bugs and plants that wandered into his hut. Thank the Windsinger Guardians have such a versatile diet. Had he gone any longer and those staples wouldn't have been enough to support him. He was already emaciated when he came to us. From the recorder the sound of a weight resting against a seat and a burdened sigh, interrupted the report. I've worked a great deal with him the last few months he's been here. He's little more then a lost little cub and I have to admit my heart has reached out to the boy. Jadda requested we adopt him, but I've been hesitant. He's a guardian after all, he's going to get absolutely huge and what happens to us when his Search hits him? A pause of silence followed the question. Pearl tells me to just suck it up and adopt him, but I'm still worried I won't be able to handle it. Blaze's voice dropped to a very low whisper, making it hard to hear. After another moment of silence a loud pop resonates over the recorder. What the hell, I love the cub. My girls are going to laugh at me later I know, but you know what it will be worth it.
