The Lady of the Lake
Lancelot was the son of Lord Bans. When Lancelot was just a hatchling, Lord Bans was driven from his territory by his nemesis, Claudas. Bans was briefly wounded and was tended to by his mate, Kilala. While she was tending to her mate, Lancelot was kidnapped by a Maren Scout and was whisked away to be raised by the Maren Beastclan. Kilala was so heartbroken that she fled from the land and never returned.
Later, Arthur gave Lancelot the important task of guarding his mate and Queen, Guinevere, which after many years developed into a romance. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Elene, Princess of Bleakwood Falls
During Lancelot's time serving under Arthur, he was betrothed to a princess of the North, called Elene, who was very much in love with Lancelot. Arthur saw it as a useful mating, as the North of Camelot was always difficult to negotiate with. Elene was more than happy to have Lancelot, however Lancelot was beginning to develop feelings for Guinevere. Reluctantly, he agreed to be mated to Elene and briefly moved to the North, which upset Guinevere greatly. After their clutch was laid, Lancelot thought that he no longer needed to be in the North, as he assumed his role as mate was completed, and returned to Camelot as soon as he could. Elene, however was heart-broken. She realized that Lancelot did not love her. She tried to focus on controlling her clan, which proved to be more difficult than initially thought without her mate, and at the same time raise her hatchlings. Her oldest, her daughter Meilichios, fell ill just after reaching adulthood and died. Her son, Alduin, seemed to think his sister's death was his father's fault. Lancelot, hearing that one of his hatchling had died, was torn. He felt terrible for Elene, but he did not love her and so felt that it would be wrong of him to go back. Ultimately, he stayed in Camelot, although he did ask his father, Bans, to visit the Princess and comfort her if he could. After a while, it was announced that Elene was to take a new mate, as she determined Lancelot was unfit. Arthur, fearing that the trade with the North would fall through, tried to force Lancelot back. However before he could, Elene revealed that her new mate was Lord Bans, Lancelot's father. She assured Arthur that all their agreements would remain intact, and so Arthur allowed Lancelot the choice of returning to fight for his mate or not. Lancelot chose to remain in Camelot.
