His appearance has lead many to fear him as a dark omen or a demon when he is actually rather polite and kind, not wanting to start a fight as his weak skin would surly lead to a fatal wound. From his past experiences he is timid, flinching at sudden movement and preferring to stick with those he knows.

Kochbiel is not a healthy dragon. Stricken with a bizarre disease that has caused dark feathers to sprout from under his scales and skin to peel back exposing bone. The feathers that grow from his body quickly molt, this along with his weakened skin causes the molting to rip at his body. Many of the wounds under his bandages are very fresh.

His disease, though frightening, is not contagious or genetic. It acts more like a curse yet it has no caster. Kochbiel's mate Rosvirein has been looking for a cure but has been unsuccessful.

He always smells of fresh medicine thinly veiled under the herbs he carries.

He went to visit the Archmage Styrka (From nanamikiryuu!) who gave him powdered Basilisk bone to take with water, along with a map.

The powder helps to harden his skin, bringing a huge improvement to his well being. He does daily stretches, meditation and training to prepare to find Blathanna (Also from nanamikiryuu) and Rosvirein is helping him stay on track, while also making sure he doesn't push himself too far.
