He wouldn't call himself trapped. He'd call it a safe haven, one that he wanted to remain in - permanently.

There was nothing wrong with not wanting to be real, right? The real world was cruel, and this realm was peaceful. Bright. Full of hope.

Lockharte was happy here.

Though, now that he thought about it...he wasn't sure that was entirely true.

He'd gotten a visitor. A Guardian.

He was young, but he already donned the scars of an experienced fighter. How he'd made his way there, Lockharte wasn't sure. And his curiosity grew.

"Why are you here?"

The Guardian bared its fangs upwards in a demented smile.

"I am searching for my charge."

The Charge. The Guardian's chosen dragon, the object of their eternal protection. Lockharte almost dismissed it, and the Guardian, completely.

But...there was something alluring about those scars. They held a story that could be told without words. He wanted to know more.

Lockharte raised his chin.

"Then be mine."
