Eira

Name means "snow"

A long time ago, in the darkest parts of the Crystalspine Reaches, an experiment was begun. A handful of Arcane dragons had let their curiosity overtake them and darkness creep into their hearts. Observing quietly and asking question was no longer enough, strict and controlled observations must be done. These dark Mages began stealing eggs anyway they could then subjecting the eggs and newly born hatchlings to awful and rigorous experiments and controlled observations. A few of these mages decided that perhaps they could create a better, more efficient dragon with a little... engineering and thus the Circuit dragons were born. The fluid filling the circuits was an enhancer (kinda like Bane from Batman) to make these dragons bigger, stronger, tougher, and ultimately meaner than any before them.

Eira is a result of the early steps of this experiment and how it can go wrong. Eira was a stolen egg from the Nature flight and a true beauty to behold, that is, until the dark mages got her. From the moment her egg was stolen she was experimented on, the mages injected her egg with absurd amounts of the enhancement serum to prepare her immune system for the later experiments. As a result of all these early experiments, Eira was born colorless and cold but glistening into the dark heart of the Crystalspine Reaches. The mages wasted no time but immediately stitched the circuits under the topmost layer of her skin, hoping that by doing so early in her development, the circuits would graft and become part of her DNA instead of merely and attachment. Before Eira was a week old, they shot the serum through the circuits but there were too many flaws in the serum. Eira screamed like no dragon should scream and the skin around the circuits began to burn. Even the dark-hearted mages could not allow the Tundra to suffer this way so they drained the circuits but could not remove them from her.

Eira is now what is known as a "Blank" dragon being without color, or body heat. The circuits did graft to her DNA, making that the only trait she can pass down to her descendants but also making her perfect for breeding purposes to the dark mages as they continue their experiments in secret. They have revised their serum and released many of their successful mutant dragons out into the world, a world Eira longs to see and visit but she cannot. Kept in captivity since her capture, Eira is too sensitive to sunlight to be in it very long even IF the mages would let her out. They fear damage to their precious failure and must preserve her for breeding.

Eira has often dreamed of what the outside is like and loves to listen to the stories of other dragons captive here. Sometimes, when it is night, Eira manages to slip out of the cave network and catch a glimpse of the darkness that surrounds them but cannot stay long before the light hurts her eyes and she feels faint. Eira knows her purpose is bets served here but her heart of Nature aches for what it should have known.
