She/Her | Pansexual | Mated to Zaratin

When she isn't watching over the clan's hatchlings with Laysa, her Sprouting Goblin, and Tenley, her Terra Tortoise, Reynada is most often found with her nose in a book, surrounded by scrolls. She values knowledge more than anyone else in the clan does and loves throwing common sense at those that can't seem to use it. She is, however, very aware of how her words may affect others. She is extremely skilled at reading body language and thus can see right through lies and deliberately hurtful actions. Do not approach with harmful intent, she will destroy you.

Questions from Ask A Dragon!

From @Recallback on August 28, 2019
Reynada, you're an avid reader! Do you have a favourite genre of books, perhaps even an overall favourite book?
Rey's head shot up at the sound of your voice, her book clattering from her claws to the floor. Her eyes darted across the room, mumbling numbers as she counted hatchlings, confirming that they were all still in the room. She sighed, a smile adorning her face as she picked up her book, finally looking at you.
"Sorry about that, I got a little lost in thought... A favorite book genre? Definitely non-fiction. I can't say that I enjoy made up stories as much as factual information." She glanced at the doorway then at the hatchlings, all of which were quietly entertaining themselves. "I have, however, just begun reading a fairly popular book series- what's his name... oh! Harry Potter! I believe that's what it's called. So much information and endless things to learn!" She gestured to the small stack of books behind her, the first and second of the series sitting underneath the third, a piece of parchment sticking out from one of its pages. "Yes, those have been very good. As for a favorite book... goodness, so many choices..." She mentally scanned the massive shelf she had in her and Zaratin's den, recalling as many titles as she could. "Alright, this might sound lame to many dragons, but I do really enjoy dictionaries. I believe I have around 7 in my personal collection, and in each one I have found words that the others do not have. They're a real- uh- 'page turner', I believe is the correct phrase for this situation." She mulled over the phrase for a moment before giving you a wave. "Thank you for the question!"

Reynada, what genre of books and scrolls do you most like to read?
Reynada looked up at you, her tail wrapping around the tiny ridgeback that was curled up beside her. She put a finger up to her lips, signaling to be quiet.
"I just got him to sleep." The sleeping plague dragon shifted slightly, a squeaky groan slipping out of his tiny form. "I do believe I was asked a similar question last time." Rey whispered. "I prefer non-fiction over fiction. I'm just not the biggest fan of made up stories, but I can respect all types of written works. I especially have respect for those that do create their own worlds and write about them, especially worlds that are interesting enough for others to enjoy. But yes, non-fiction anything is what I enjoy most." She smiled at you before adding. "Thanks for the question, and for not waking the little one."

Hey Reynada! seeing as you spend a lot of time watching over hatchlings, how do you feel about hatchlings? Do you like them or think that they're annoying?
Reynada was searching through book titles on a bottom shelf when you asked, chin basically resting on the ground. Just as she sat up straight to look at you, two tiny piebald paint Wildclaw hatchings scrambled onto her head, giggling together. They hopped up and down, a half-lidded glare on the Ridgeback's face as she finally made eye contact with you.
"Yes, I just love hatchlings. They're my- favorite." She snarled sarcastically through gritted teeth, averting her eyes to the little ones on her head. A low growl rumbled through her throat, and the hatchlings froze, but only for a moment. The oldest, the smaller of the two, waited only a mere seconds before batting a wing at his sister's face. She instantly fought back, but their antics were cut short by Reynada giving her head a harsh shake, letting out a sharp growl as the hatchlings fluttered to the ground. They rushed off, tackling and tumbling over each other until they were out of sight. This left the poor caretaker a moment to breathe, forcing air through her lungs. "Goodness gracious. I do really love hatchlings. I've had the honor of caring for each and every hatchling that has been born into this clan. Those two are special, too, being the first of the clan's fourth generation. They tend to take after their grandpa, Spriktan, however... Which, while he is a lovely dragon, and a key asset to our frontlines, he's very much still a youngling at heart, and the clan's biggest prankster." The Ridgeback's next thought was suddenly interrupted by a clang! from the next room, followed by a thunderous ggrrroooaawwrrrr, which she quickly recognized as her mate's. The Wildclaw hatchlings scurried back into the room, giggling gleefully as Zaratin stomped after them. Bright green paint dripped off his head, leaving a trail behind him. Reynada groaned, muttering about her mate being the last dragon in the clan to prank. "Please forgive me, but I need to go save those trouble makers, or Zar will trample them. Thank you very much for asking! ... Leneyes! Delna! You two get back here this INSTANT!!" She charged after the paint trail, already dreading the clean-up.
