Biography
ionachta wródon
she/her | homosexual | egg-bearers | the first wife
she/her | homosexual | egg-bearers | the first wife
|| Background
A true Plagueling, Ionachta has been familiar with both violence and power her entire life. She was hatched to a vicious clan in the Abiding Boneyard, eldest of her nest; she was succeeded by her younger brother, Misneach. The pair's parents were authorities in the clan, with their father being the clan leader's right-hand dragon who often led the pack when the leader wasn't around. However, he was far from an attentive parent, and neither was the hatchlings' mother, who was matriarch in all but name. They ignored their children as they fought each other, and so, Ionachta and her brother were forced to fend for themselves.
Eventually, however, the cruelty of their hatching clan reached a breaking point. Ionachta could stand living there no longer, and she and Misneach agreed to leave that very night. The two managed to successfully sneak free, and together, they wandered the Boneyard for a while, unsure of where the future would lead them from then on. Misneach ended up finding a clan calling his name; Ionachta did not feel the same pull, and they parted tearfully, with her path still winding before her. But little did she know that the force pushing her ever onwards was not mere wanderlust, but her Search.
It took a long time, but the day came that Ionachta breached a hill and saw the Bone Spire before her, freshly free of Grimm's reign. She knew in that instant that she would remain there forevermore, and approached it, revealing her presence to the then-new Matriarch Aldith. She and Aldith immediately connected, and after the Matriarch allowed her to stay, that connection blossomed into a friendship that turned, in due time, to love. When Aldith asked Ionachta to become her first Egg-Bearer, she eagerly accepted.
|| Current
Now safely and happily taking the position of Aldith's First Wife, Ionachta has, in a way, followed the footsteps of her mother. She is the defacto head of the Egg-Bearers, and carries much authority in the Childrens' hierarchy. Her time with Aldith has also given her somewhat of an ego; she can be rather vain, and prides herself on both her power and her appearance in equal measure, wishing to give the most of herself at all times.
Despite that, however, Ionachta is a far cry from the cruel shadow of her parents. She is far more kind and understanding, and despite her vanity, is considered dependable and true not just by her wife, but by the Children as a whole. She is very active in her new clan, from checking on the Nesting Pits to helping Aldith make decisions, and her consistent presence means she is very popular. Most of all, she strives to make a family free of the infighting that had plagued her own. After all, she believes a family is strong not by the sharpness of its claws, but by the tethers of its heart.

|| Notes
◈ A sucker for treasure, Ionachta is the only Egg-Bearer to keep her own private hoard, mostly of sparkly trinkets that Aldith has gotten for her over the years.
◈ Ionachta is in her late forties.
◈ Out of all the Egg-Bearers, Ionachta is the most well-liked by her companions, and the only one besides Aldith who actually enjoys Plácido's company.
◈ As the Bone Spire is her Charge, Ionachta often accompanies contingents of new Blood-Marked to scout the territory, alongside Tunim. This has resulted in a noticeable closeness between the two Egg-Bearers.
◈ In her spare time, Ionachta is a semi-competent gardener, and keeps pots of roses in her private room in the Bone Spire. She also tends to the redblood snappers that grow in the Rioting Plaza.
◈ Ionachta is the formal organizer of meetings between the Children and the Clan of Torn Scales, with the help of her wife's familiar, Sobek.
