“The most beautiful place I’ve ever been? That award goes to Dream’s garden, easily. I could stay there forever.”

While wandering through the hideout you come across somebody saying that Dream’s garden is the most beautiful in the world. You don’t just believe everything you hear and decide to go see them for yourself. Upon entering through the hidden tunnels, however, your breath is taken by the view. The sheer magnificence of it! Flowers you could never even have dreamed existed bloom all around you, some larger than imperials, other barely as big as a fae’s ear, so colorful they make rainbows look gray. Vines curl up trees and gnarly roots create odd formations. It’s not just plants either. Animals you've never even heard of mingle in the plentiful life around, swooping and diving and taking you by surprise even when you think youŕe ready for them. It’s a beautiful paradise.
So why are you still slightly unsettled?


Dream´s garden is beautiful, nobody will deny that. He puts all of his time and energy into tending it. But in the Tangled Woods, nothing is ever as it seems, and the Sanctuary is no exception. For in the depths of the paradise of a garden, past rainbows and glitter, there lie secret dangers: Beautiful flowers with poisonous pollen, trees that grab unwary trespassers with their leafy branches, explosive rodents and electric mice, three-headed dogs and talking cats… The list goes on and on. Dream´s definition of beautiful is not limited to soft petals and bright feathers, unlike other dragons, meaning that he will keep and care for pretty much anything he happens to find on his expeditions. Because most visitors do not share this sentiment, he used his plentiful magic to erect natural barriers around what is known as the Shelter of Dark Hearts, for only the shady inhabitants of Fox Hollow can see and appreciate the true beauty of the place. But enough about that.
Dream´s history is not long or exciting. He was born in the Shrieking Wilds, which is why he is so used to the darkness of the Tangled Woods, and also why he loves nature so much. His parents were professionals in science, specifically genetics and their manipulation. They bred and crossbred animals for a living, a practice not entirely legal but very profitable. They were discovered in his youth, and when the inspector came he fled, taking as much of their progress as he could carry and opening the cages, as were his parent´s orders.
He arrived in Fox Hollow soon after his escape and was welcomed warmly, being rather young. He began to build up his garden using the magic abundant in his body and a few of his parent´s latest results. The village kept the dangers well hidden, but many began visiting frequently and still do. One such dragon is River, who says he finds the dangerous beauty relaxing. He and Dream get along well, keeping each other company, with the latter helping the former with the pain caused by his magic-induced transformations.
The Wolf Pack relies heavily on the Shelter for several reasons. As each Pack member begins by receiving an animal companion, the first session always consists of choosing one of the young animals that their parents have allowed to go. More experienced trainees come back later to adopt more. In addition, the variety of poisons and defences existing in these animals are useful as resources to the Pack´s warriors.
Dream has a gentle and caring heart, which is why his Shelter is always open to the lost and injured animals of the woods. He has no taste for battle and keeps to himself a lot, dreaming up new worlds and putting them on paper with his other talents: writing, art and poetry.
On some occasions, he can be seen in the back of the garden, speaking apparently to himself. DO NOT approach him at that point. Those that do disappear and are never seen again...
