Syd has never been one for the small things in life, he doesn't care much for anything but whenever anything catches his eyes he wants it whether it be by stealing or "borrowing." Due to his bad habits Syd has spent more traveling than most other dragons. He joins a new clan just to once again fall to temptation. Will he ever learn to lay his focus upon but a single subject, for it to become an area of expertise, instead of losing it trying to gather as many stupid little facts about as many subects as possible...? Because of his lackluster fighting abilities, becoming a warrior or a fighter had never been an option for him. Instead he focused on learning magic, while he doesn't have many memories of his childhood he remembers being mesmerised by his mothers magic, a feeling that never quite went away. Seeing the same expression he had on his face, one full of awe and happiness on other hatchlings is one of the main reasons he even uses magic. Syd takes the role of a wandering traveler making jokes, flaunting his magic and gaining their trust before swooping into the treasury when they least expect it and leaving with the largest and most brilliant gems. He lived like this for many years, going from clan to clan stealing everything he could ever desire while also developing his magic abilities to further impress. Of course not without mishaps every now and then, but because of his incredible stamina mixed with incredible agility there are few situations Syd cannot escape. |

Everything changed when one day he came across a clan that was unlike others, most of the clan members were covered in gold from head to toe, all of the dragons were so different it made him question how they could have found each other. But Syd only shrugged it off, not expecting this to be any different. During his usual show to start gaining trust he was quite disappointed upon noticing the lack of hatchlings, not even the adults without magic looked that impressed, but strangely enough the dragons were still very pleased with him, he refused to admit it but Syd slowly began getting closer to many of the clan dragons revealing of his love of hatchlings before realizing he was getting to close. As the days passed Syd slowly tried distancing himself he knew that this heist would be unlike others. Once again he had to switch tactics, this time he needed to rely on stealth. However Syd could only smirk at the dragons stupidity, no dragon was guarding the treasures. He easily and silently made his way into the treasure room, he had never seen so many treasures in his life. There was a pile of gold so large it almost looked surreal, just as he was about to begin his night of thieving he halted. The mountain of gold moving caused him to freeze in fear, it wasn’t a mountain of gold, but a dragon made of gold. The golden imperial had sensed Syd the moment he stepped inside, knowing his time was up Syd turned to plan B, mere seconds away from flying away into the night never to be seen again the imperial stopped him by proposing a deal. Syd was surprised to learn that the dragons he had met over the past few days were actually enjoying his company, even going as far as discussing if they were to invite Syd into the clan. His abilities could prove useful, the golden imperial stated. However it wasn’t until he began speaking of hatchlings that Syd truly began listening, but as it turns out giving up old habits is not easy. Especially for a habit that has stuck with Syd his entire life. While he agreed to the deal and was let into the clan he spent months if not years away stealing from other clans, but no matter what he always returned, for the younger dragons this was almost like a holiday. For a dragon who thought he’d never find his place, Syd has truly found his family now. |
