Vicar was brought to Mondirewick Castle when he was an adolescent, lost from his family and with nowhere to go he was 'adopted' by the now previous vicar. He'd been given the name 'Successor' and was subject to the best learning he could've asked for, but also the horrors of being experimented on by someone he had trusted. Vicar changed from a normal Imperial to one that could take on a more beast-like form, and while he adjusted to it he felt tricked and hurt by his guardian.
But his parental figure did not stay one forever, while Vicar had been trying to do his chores like any other day when Prince Imenand noticed his strange beast-like features. He had come to learn the full story behind his mentor's experiments, and had to watch as he was executed before his eyes. Vicar gained his true name and duties then but between this and dealing with the child god of the castle, it was no surprise when he started to lose his eyesight. He developed ways to handle his lack of sight and was able to continue his work even as his red eyes dulled as time passed. He fooled many court members for a long time over his sight, even today there are some that believe he is still a sighted person. Most wouldn't want someone who was blind working on them medical-wise after all, even though he's done very well in the field. For some time however he had taken to a similar habit that his coworker Iosefka has, after a hunt had dragged out awful memories of the past Vicar couldn't leave his clinic. He was plagued by nightmares of the past and didn't dare to tell anyone about them. He still refuses to speak of it, but eventually he finally left the clinic more often pushing aside the problem for now. When he finally had felt okay enough to wander about again however Anora dragged him into talking to Imenand personally. He'd never felt okay with speaking about his feelings to the former prince even though they had always been there even when they were younger, but he finally told him. Vicar can now often be found laying about with Imenand, acting as a doctor still but also a consort to the decay lord. |
