Abysstongue

Abysstongue may have suffered some as firstborn to the newly entranced pair of Banana Wise and Green Seas. They were young and madly in love, and they did not always have eyes for their little hatchling and the troubles he got into along the clan's long route from the deep forests to the volcanic ashlands.

But this did not mean they were inattentive. Only that they allowed young Abysstongue to develop a certain strong independence. He likes to explore and he still does so, often leaving the clan for long weeks then returning with goods from the blue seas that glut the center of Sornieth. On one such trip he returned with a torn wing. Though it has mended well, thanks to the work of Pemphredo, most skillful healer of the Witches Nine, it yet plagues him.

As an older brother, he has begun to show an unexpected doting streak. His lengthy absences have shortened. Instead he entertains his brother, Abyssal Song, with tales of his explorations. Green Seas has mused he won't be surprised when the two of them journey off together.

That his ridgeback brother far outstrips him hasn't bothered Abysstongue. It isn't uncommon to see the larger, younger brother carry his older, smaller brother upon his back through the Cinderwood, Abysstongue's once tattered wing stretched out to let the scars show.
