The Dunhoof became the Guardian's Charge after they meet when the dragon is out hunting. For a while, things go swimmingly.
Until one day, when Chiron is out hunting, another dragon attacks the dunhoof and leaves her for dead. Coming back to her lair to find her Charge barely holding on drives the Guardian into, almost literally, making a deal with the devil: in return for saving the centaur's life, Chiron agreed to become The Hunter, the pet executioner for The Shades.
Now she lives on the verge of blood-drunk insanity, barely able to remember the little centaur she cared so deeply for, knowing only the she must be protected. And in turn, the Dunhoof does her best to make her Guardian remember her true self. If only for a moment.
