Two Skydancers hailing from the Reedcleft Ascent found that the water called them with songs of whispering melodies that wrapped around their home. Following the call, the pair pushed their feathered wings to the limit as they followed a trail of ancient bubbles to the Sea of a Thousand Currents heart. During their travel through the Leviathan Trench, their wings went through a metamorphosis. The intense pressure of the deep flattened their feathers into fin beautiful fins.

Forsaking their ability to fly for swimming the pair were able to reach the Tidelord's Spiral Keep. There, they learned of the song the Tidelord had prophesied, and that with their beautiful bone sphere and antennae they where able to pick up the magical notes. Enraptured by the Tidelord's words, the pair swore allegiance to him, promising to sing the ancient song in place of the spirits who no longer could.

Upon returning to land, the pair created nests beneath the Reedcleft Ascents, unable to remove themselves from their wind ties but forsaking the sky. Instead they used the winds to carry their song high above the sea where they now dwelt.

Years have passed since that faithful journey and their lineage spread across the world, catering to the ocean's song wherever it may take them.

Cherub and Current - Leader of the pack. Forceful but calm.

The sea variation was the first syren subspecies to be discovered. They are most recognizable by their beautiful blue bodies and green wings. Coloured by the seas clear blue water and shimmering green reflection, they are dragons of both sea and sky. They are overly happy and go-lucky, constantly making friends and seeking attention from others. They are vain creatures that may turn violent if their beauty is insulted. Their songs consist of beautiful hymns and laughter filled nursery-rhymes that make others think of home and love.

Cherub and current is the dominant variation of syren subspecies. The cherub gene grants their body warmth to protect themselves from the frigid winds while their finned current wings give them superior swimming speed. Due to their superiority, they often take the more active role of their mating pair. They become overprotective of their ripple/seraph counterparts and will become aggressive if they are harmed in anyway by anyone.
