Crafted from Achelous and maidens of Persephone, the Syrens are dragons of legend and fable. Birthed from the first Skydancers that found home in the deep lairs of the Tidelord. Having abandoned their windswept keeps, the dragons now use their feathers to fly through the seas, fin webbing covering their wings to allow brief periods of gliding song.[/right] [/columns] [columns]Each clutch is unique, an array of colors dependents on the waters they sleep in. Born with a mix of weeping waters and wistful wind, they amass a gentle combination of genes that form Cherub with Current and Ripple with Seraph, painted carefully with glimmer on the belly and horns. No other combination so beautiful, no other accepted. These dragons are as cruel as they are exquisite, and those who are abandoned are covered in oil, their glimmer deteriorating into crackle. Following the call, the pair pushed their feathered wings to the limit as they followed a trail of ancient bubbles to the Sea of a Thousand Currents heart. During their travel through the Leviathan Trench, their wings went through a metamorphosis. The intense pressure of the deep flattened their feathers into fin beautiful fins. Forsaking their ability to fly for swimming the pair were able to reach the Tidelord's Spiral Keep. There, they learned of the song the Tidelord had prophesied, and that with their beautiful bone sphere and antennae they where able to pick up the magical notes. Enraptured by the Tidelord's words, the pair swore allegiance to him, promising to sing the ancient song in place of the spirits who no longer could. Upon returning to land, the pair created nests beneath the Reedcleft Ascents, unable to remove themselves from their wind ties but forsaking the sky. Instead they used the winds to carry their song high above the sea where they now dwelt. Mud Syrens are considered the ugliest of their subspecies, despite their beauty compared to other dragons. They have brown hued bodies and white hued wings . These dragons are the result of Syren eggs that have been buried in mud for the duration of their incubation, soaking up the soil coloration.
