2017 Greenskeeper Gathering - Hunting With Nifflers - Short Story

Isabella shook her head. Just because she was a Nature dragon didn’t mean she had the ability to grow anything anywhere, especially in the harsh environment between the Cloudscrape Crags and The Fortress of Ends. Now her clan leaders wanted strawberry plants – to produce big, red, sweet, juicy strawberries for the clan. Even if she could manage that outdoors – and it would take an impossible amount of magic to keep them alive – the Snowshoe Rabbits would devour them in a heartbeat. She sighed. She supposed she’d just have to find more room in the clan greenhouse. It was already overflowing with exotic plants and everyone’s “favorite” from their homelands. With as many dragons as they had to feed – not to mention all the transient dragons there for training – there was simply no more room for anything else! Unless… Isabella started thinking. She grabbed a sketchpad and drew a stepped, raised bed. Perhaps… yes, that would fit in that corner and then the mushrooms could grow under them. The Guardian tore off the sketch and went to track down Watson, the clan’s carpenter. This might just work after all.

2019 Greenskeeper Gathering - Floral Fancies

Each year, Clan Diamond Dust always allowed their dragons to return to their birth flight for that flight's festival. Isabella tried to take advantage of that policy whenever she could. Living in the Southern Icefields could be a little rough on Nature dragons. Not as bad as Fire dragons, but the difference in regions could sometimes make Nature dragons a little... depressed.

Fortunately her clan had two very large greenhouses that she helped build. There were other dragons who helped out and tended the plants, but it was her responsibility to maintain the buildings. They were soothing, beautiful places full of greenery and warmth and helped chase any homesickness away.

Yet, she still enjoyed her visits back to the The Viridian Labyrinth during festivals and never missed an opportunity to pick up some new seeds or cuttings.

That was, in fact, what Isabella was doing when she got pushed from behind, right into Barrow's cart of flowers. After apologizing profusely, and being helped up by the Imperial, the Guardian gasped when she noticed a small pink flower by her front claws. "Is this..." she managed. "I've been looking all over for seeds for this species. Do you by any chance have some to sell... or trade...?"

Isabella seems adventurous, and the type of dragon who'll make Barrow break from his routine! And he'll have quite the challenge making his plants thrive in the Ice flight!
