As Cassiopeia's grandson and the father of the heir apparent, Silvester holds some prestige amongst the clan. But, unlike Leon, who enjoys the status, or Ofelia, who simply can't stand it, Silvester's reaction to the attention is a resounding shrug. This easy-going blacksmith would rather be smithing his mate a new gardening implement than participating in politics of any sort. Silvester tends toward introversion, spending most of his time shut in his workshop, tending the forge. Even when not working, he is most comfortable surrounded by the roar of flames and the sizzle of cooling metal; they speak to him in ways that mere language cannot. Rather ironically, this leads many to perceive him as cold. In truth, Silvester feels the same range of emotion as any sapient being; his differences lie in his means of expressing them. He's never been spotted exchanging words of love or affection even with his own daughter--but he does smith her a new, equally ornate set of gauntlets on every major holiday. (For that matter, Ofelia, ostensibly surly and unsentimental, has kept them all.)

Despite his Arcane heritage, Silvester's kinship with fire and superheated profession inspire him to veneration of the Flamecaller. He is understated with his worship as with all things. He respects all of the deities (it can, occasionally, be dangerous not to), but those close enough to gain the privilege of watching Silvester work hear a quiet prayer to the ruler of the Ashfall Wastes before he begins each new smithing project. Does she answer? Not audibly, but then, the coals in Silvester's forge burn awfully bright.
