Biography
Margot |
Patron God The Gladekeeper Magical Abilities can sense disease eidetic memory |
Gentle but firm, Margot is the front line against disease on the Archipelago. She has been tending to the ill and wounded since Cassiopeia's rule began on the central isle; however, in those early days, she took a more martial role as a combat medic, serving directly under Avery. She has taken that military discipline with her to her home practice, standing stoic against the worst afflictions the radioactive isles have to offer. Margot is soft-spoken and sweet-hearted but not remotely a pushover, as plenty of enemy combatants found out during her military days. Many are shocked to find that she is descended from a long family of Plague dragons, but those who know her best argue that it makes perfect sense: Margot has always been dogged and single-minded in the scrape for survival, be it her own or that of her patients. Margot herself is more ambivalent about her heritage; she broke contact with her parents long ago, denouncing the cruel pragmatism of the Plaguebringer and her followers. (This is a point of commiseration between herself and Janus, himself born to--and abandoned by--a Plague clan.) Nevertheless, she must admit that having a kinship with the forces of Plague can come in handy in her line of work. Her ancestry has granted her something of a sixth sense for disease, making the diagnosis of her patients an easy process. |
One would be hard-pressed to find a more universally liked dragon in the Archipelago than Margot. She is dear in the heart of many a former patient, whether she'd like to be or not. While she accepts her admirers' appreciation with grace (and, when necessary, a firm but polite reminder of the importance of boundaries), Margot's own tastes in draconic companionship are a bit more unconventional. Many of her closest friendships began as rivalries--and most remain rivalries even now. A casual observer to her regular arguments with Leon would think the two of them unfriendly at best, but the truth is that Margot and Leon have been a couple (on and off, but with much more time spent on than off) for decades. Margot is a great appreciator of his blunt honestly and unwillingness to spare her feelings... most of the time.
