» The Grackle Coven «

Starwood Strand | Polytheistic Mages | Independent

Somewhere in the glittering branches of the Starwood Strand, there resides a large coven of magical dragons. Led by a large and regal Guardian and his frail Tundra mate, they are welcoming and warm to new dragons looking for a home; especially orphaned eggs and hatchlings.

All elements are used in daily life here, and they also endure and battle the Shade that makes its way through the Arcane territories. Other than the dark and mysterious Shade, it is peaceful and prosperous.

Welcome to the Grackle Coven!

» Origins «

Two dragons meet in the Starwood Strand, a small frail Tundra and a mighty Guardian. The Guardian, battle-worn and tired, asks the Tundra, who is lying next to a fire, for a place to rest. The Tundra accepts, sharing a large portion of her food with the royal-coloured Guardian. They talk for hours, until the sun rises and even longer.

The Guardian slowly realizes his wounds have healed over the night he spent with this tiny Tundra. He asks the Tundra to accompany him in his venture to find his Charge, and she smiles and agrees. She tells him she already has a place she stays every so often, so she begins to lead deeper into the forest.

Throughout a few days of travel and flight, they learn more about each other and the Guardian finally shares his name. Titus, the stoic and bitter Guardian, begins to pull down the walls he built so long ago, for this new friend, who she says her name is Althea.

They arrive under the newly formed sky islands in the Arcane territories and Althea leads Titus to a modest valley. Althea says she stays here with a few other dragons that travel throughout the territories, and its residents are always changing. She then offers him to become a leader of sorts in the valley, since only she knew of his past. He thinks about it and scans the valley. His eyes light up and agrees to try and make this a home.

It takes a long time, but dens are made and dragons start filing into this new clan. Titus is given the role of leader, and eventually forms a Council of like minded dragons to lead certain aspects of the clan. Finally, Titus and Althea settle on a name of their clan, to fit their ideals.

The Grackle Coven. A group of magical beings gathered under one flag for unity, spiritualism, and peace. Both Titus and Althea lead the Grackle Coven to the future, both with mind and heart respectively.

» Present Day «

These days, the Grackle Coven is home to a large array of dragons; some misfits that fit in only here, and some that have been there from day one. There are barely any squabbles, and when they do break out, they are easily tempered with a good joke and an offer of Althea’s infamous Starwood tea.
